I did a thread about the first one on the old board once. Did not know there was a remake until just now. Someone started a thread on another of these boards, so I went to the wonderful world of YouTube and found this trailer. Looks good. As with the thread about the original "Flatliners" which I did on the old website, I have not marked this one OT because life-after-death stuff falls under the heading of RFS, and it's one of the things that the ungodly keep trying to tell us is impossible. In all honesty, I'm not sure I've got what it takes to have a death experience deliberately induced. If it happens on its own, then oh well, but to do it on purpose? I don't know. There's a chance that you can't come back. Or maybe.....just maybe it would be so much better there that you wouldn't want to come back. ![](https://s26.postimg.org/66chy60t5/wink.gif) Would anyone else be up for it, if for no other reason than to testify that there's nothing out there beyond physical death? ![](https://s26.postimg.org/gf93ycxax/giveup.gif)

The original was brilliant. I don't know if this one will be as good but it looks like it might be worth watching.

I think it's possible that people have done this before, perhaps many times throughout the ages. Today there are laws against suicide, and that would be a major problem, so it would have to be kept a secret. Inquiring minds want to know, but understandably they don't want to go to prison for it later, yes?

And if the experiment failed and the person did not come back to life? The legal ramifications could be bad. Very bad indeed. Especially if the survivors of the deceased and their lawyers get into it.

One can get killed while rock climbing, but rock climbing isn't intended to stop the heart. That only happens in rock climbing when something goes wrong. If people started having their hearts stopped on purpose, the authorities would worry that it would become a fad, and sooner or later somebody wouldn't make it back, and then they would have some explaining to do about why they allowed it.

I agree, so many remakes fail to live up to the same standard as the original, yet Hollywood seems to like them. The current remake of The Mummy looks dire, the current remake of Wonder Woman doesn't look too bad although I have too many fond memories of Lynda Carter in the role in the 70's.

You are talking about attempted suicide, or aiding in a suicide, there is no scenario where someone can be charged with suicide.

In ghost stories, often, the ghost is someone who can't rest until something from the ghost's past is fixed. And this is what happens to the flatliners. They get hunted (pun intended) by things from their past that makes them unable to find their final rest, or peace of soul. So they try to fix it. About afterlife: There is none. And I would not participate in this type of flatlining experiment; because I believe that the odds are high that the brain would suffer irreparable damage from it.

It is amazing as to how quickly you grasp onto legal concepts .

Then, may I suggest that you speak to him and the producers of this film?

The thing I disliked about the original was the covering of Julia Roberts' boobs. Come on, they're supposed to be medical students; they're supposed to see naked women all the time.
