No he didn't show any power while working the hot corner like Schmidt, because he wasn't a power hitter. I know you're just trolling here so I'm not going to respond to this thread anymore, but calling Rose a utility player proves you know less about baseball than I thought. do you remember Shane Victorino? he showed a lot of 'Spunk' didn't he?

Overrated? Are you serious? The man has the most hits in MLB history and could play infield for any team today. Don't feed the troll. hey - there's been a 'slap hitter' here recently name Ben Revere who had speed and was 'Spunky' was up there in batting and stolen bases - woooooo-hhhhhooooooo!!! they couldn't wait until he was gone. but - everybody gets a trophy today! woo-hooo!! you can hit singles!

You really don't know why Rose isn't in the Hall of Fame? well - i think it comes down to gambling and politics - i.e. heard stories he bet on baseball when he was managing even though he said he never bet against his team - i.e. he was in position to change an outcome since he was in charge. i think he should get in. but today - he's a 'utility' and 'slap hitter' and 'energy guy' off the bench. we need to recognize our heroes of past - like Dr. J - who is basically Robert Covington today and could dunk - but we all love to relish in the tales of our heros past and make them seem bigger than real life ala jack and the beanstalk. we're in an era where the superior athlete is prevalent - doesn't mean we shouldn't recognize these players from years past.. Any player, umpire, or club or league official or employee, who shall bet any sum whatsoever upon any baseball game in connection with which the bettor has a duty to perform shall be declared permanently ineligible. - Major League Rule 21 Only one way to be permanently banned from baseball. If you join a club that has one rule, then proceed to break that one rule, you should be chucked out on general principle. Rose professed to love the game, "I'd walk through hell in a gasoline suit to play baseball" and then pissed all over it. Piss on him. And he's still recognized. Look at the record book.

Look at the record book. that's awesome. he was a great player of 'yesteryear'. kind of like joe namath. he deserves he's spot in history.
