Didn't they already film most of the movie? Why would Lord and Miller just up and leave now?

That begs the question though, what creative differences could there possibly have been to the point where they would leave the film when they were already almost done with filming. Wouldn't these kinds of creative differences have taken place before filming began?

Wouldn't these kinds of creative differences have taken place before filming began? Yup. It's a new one on me. Of all the new Star Wars directors, these two were the only ones I ever had any real hope in based on their prior work. Wasn't a big fan of the Han Solo film anyway. It's strange. I like most of the Marvel movies under Disney, but they're fucking up with Star Wars.

Kennedy is so worthless. What an iron-fisted tyrant. Unless it comes out that Miller and Lord wanted Han to be a Nazi or something, I think this firing was wrong and cold-blooded.

Ron Howard? What a joke. Maybe 20 years from now we'll get a "Miller and Lord Cut" like the "Richard Donner Cut" of Superman II.

Apparently it was because they refused to add a demanded money shot scene of Vader riding into town and slashing Woody Harrelson to bits just before the end...

Is there a more bland director than Ron Howard?

Why him? lol. The Da Vinci Code and it's two sequels were poorly received, so why is he expecting Star Wars as his big comeback? Well, of course it is Star Wars, but there is still a chance that it will be rotten.

They wanted it to be comical, kasden wanted to take a more ridged approach, I do not want a comical Han solo movie, this is a good decision

Kennedy is so worthless. What an iron-fisted tyrant. Unless it comes out that Miller and Lord wanted Han to be a Nazi or something, I think this firing was wrong and cold-blooded. You do realize the chain of command doesn't end with Kennedy, right? Everyone serves Disney. Star Wars is their intellectual property and they will use it as they deem fit. Nothing is allowed without their expressed approval. Sure, Kennedy is a boss to many at Lucasfilm, but you don't keep a job by saying "No" to your boss. That person would lose the position very quickly and for obvious reason(s)... It's the same as I tried to tell people back in the day with George Lucas and the prequels. People complained that the likes of Rick McCallum were largely responsible for how the prequels turned out (whether that be good or bad from a person's point of view). They said Rick was a "yes man" and didn't have the guts to tell George how it actually was. What I told people back then on the original IMDB was that people like Rick were employed by Lucas. Saying "No" (just like with Kennedy) would lead to Rick being let go from his position, and I don't blame him for doing what was required of him by George. Nor do I blame Kennedy for letting these directors go. We don't even know the specifics of why they were let go. All we have are the rumors/gossip of the Internet. Also, Kennedy has to be in charge from her level of position. It's her neck on the line if the movie flops or is found to be not up to snuff to the Disney folks. I can't imagine the amount of stress/responsibility that comes with overlooking the Star Wars franchise - I certainly wouldn't want it. I like my little, quiet life. On a side note, I still think this Solo movie is really unnecessary. There's only one Han Solo and that's Harrison Ford.
