Lebron James is the best SF of all time. That is the greatest exaggeration of all. He is nowhere near the best.

Well, now Pats have added yet another championship. I believe everyone has the right to hate a sports team but at this point in time, I am not going to buy into this theory that Pats are not a great team. 3 rings they have won after I started watching NFL. The stories I were told contradicts my personal assessment of their team. Patriots are an amazing team - like them or not. They don't win because they cheat. This is a silly fairytale story that I am not going to buy. They win because they are so great. I don't like them of course but I can still appreciate them.

Losers need to hold on to whatever they can to make their sad reality a bit more bearable. Take solace in knowing that you are an intelligent, sane and reasonable person and anything that Anne Hathaway Fan and WarrenPeace have to contribute is nothing more than the human manifestation of that dogshit on the bottom of your shoe that you can mostly scrape off, but some of it is going to linger there for a little while to irk you, and just when you have it cleaned off, you accidentally step in it again.

As you know AJ, there are only two forms of cheating I consider bad enough to void the results of a whole or multiple seasons, and they've both happened to Melbourne Clubs. Essendon had all their players (apart from a couple who refused involvement for various reasons) shoot up on illegal supplements in 2012. They were booted from the finals and their players given 24 month suspensions. I'm fine with that penalty because the whole team were in on it: coaches, players and medical staff.
The other is systemic rorting (and I mean over 5 or more years) of the salary cap as the Melbourne Storm did. Think about the advantage over 5 or more years of being able to tie up every A-grader on your list and having first crack at any big star on the market by cooking your books while everyone else is losing their stars and youngsters to other teams and leagues trying to follow the rules. They didn't just screw over a couple of teams or players, they screwed the entire league with this "win at all costs" BS and deserved to lose their premierships and prize money.
Anyway, I can't see any evidence of widespread use of illegal PEDs or salary cap rorting with the Pats. They're just a good team who wins a lot.

They're just a good team who wins a lot. I agree with you, Tafe. I watched a fair bit of NFL games this season and Pats didn't look like an out of world team. But they still won. Mainly because they have a good system in place and they have learned the skills of winning. Although they got an opposition that performed very poorly in the Super Bowl, they did play pretty well against KC and Chargers. They are a bit like great Australian cricket team of 90s-2000s. At many times they win because of their superior strategy, cool decision making and just because they believe in themselves. SA was a better team in 1999 WC and yet Australia won because they had the winning attitude in them. Unlike teams like Rams who simply don't belong on a big stage. It's absurd to pretend that they win because they cheat. They win because they are simply that good.

It's similar to Bonds and Clemens. People can arhue whether they would still be all- time great players if they didn't use steroids, but no one can arhue yhat they didn't use steroids because it's preyty clear that they did use steroids. Likewise, people can argue whether Brady and the Pats would still win as much without cheating, but no one can argue that the Pats did win by cheating because it's already been proven that they're serial cheaters. The only pretend is people who pretend that Brady and the Pats didn't cheat even though it's already been proven that they did cheat.

I am not an American and started watching NFL only 3 years ago. I am still not very knowledgeable of the game but I like it and at least one thing I have figured out. That New England Patriots are very good and achieve so much success simply because they are that good. The exaggeration that they have won Super Bowls because of cheating seems ridiculous now. I am not a fan of Patriots but still I am not so foolish as not to understand that they are very talented side and their quarterback is awesome. Sometimes, it is easy to spread lies when majority people indulge in that lie. On IMDB boards so many people used to say Patriots are cheaters and win by cheating that even I bought into their lie. That said, I am personally a fan of Russell Wilson and support Seattle. But I needed to give my views as an objective person. That Patriots achieve things because of cheating is the greatest lie ever told. The entire "cheater" thing has always been the childish reaction of those sports fans who have difficulty dealing with disappointment. They lash out at the success of others. You see that sort of behavior among upset children all the time. I've alway found it odd when an adult acts that way. I don't think it's a coincidence that the biggest crybaby on the Sports forum still plays with his comic book superhero action figures.

Even if they actually were guilty of Spygate and Deflategate, they did t have enough of an impact to really matter. Amazing how everyone slams the Pats for that but the Saints paying players to take out opposing players is okay. Agreed.

Actually, it's asinine and stupid to suggest that SpyGate and DeflateGate didn't have an impact when the SpyGate Super Bowls were all decided by just 3 points and cheating could've been the difference between winning by 3 points and losing by 3 points.
EVERY NFL coach, EVEN BELICHEAT HIMSELF, will admit that if they knew the opponent's plays before the play starts, their chances of winning increase exponentially. It's asinine and stupid to even suggest otherwise.

We need to update this thread ... SIX NFL approved and undisputed Super Bowl World Championships! (We'll need to revisit it in a couple months to see if it should be updated again.)
I never really doubted that fans of other teams acknowledge the Patriots accomplishments, admire them, and wish their team could be more like the Patriots. If the roles were reversed, I would think the same ... and in all honesty, the roles are likely to reverse in the near future. There are only a couple sourpuss knuckleheads on this forum that account for 99% of the "cheating" talk. By far, an inconsequentially minority ... worthy only of our mockery and scorn.
All good things must end. The Brady/Belichick dynasty (two decades long!) is in it's twilight year(s). I don't think anyone will be surprised if this is the last season.

The crazy thing is that if it wasn't for Brady, Peyton Manning and the Colts would have been the most hated and successful team of the last two decades. Now they are just a footnote. Which team could possibly have a decade straight of championship games? I just don't see this level of success ever happening again. Which means this type of vitriol will never be seen again. Lots of people still hate the Dallas Cowboys, and they haven't been relevant for damn near a quarter of a century. That is the path the Patriots are on.

fans of other teams acknowledge the Patriots accomplishments, admire them. No intelligent fans outside New England acknowledge or admire the Patriots accomplishments. The 60s Packers, the 70s Steelers, the 80s 49ers, the 90s Cowboys, the 80s Lakers, the 90s Bulls, the Lakers again the 2000s, the Spurs, all great franchises that have never had any fines or suspensions for cheating. Fans admire those franchises. The Patriots - suspensions and multiple fines for cheating. Everyone knows the Patriots accomplishments are tainted by cheating just like Ben Johnson's world record in the 100-meter sprint final at the 1988 Olympics and no one admires cheaters like the Patriots. As for ReyKuhuka's weak excuse that he loves to use over and over again: "But the NFL hasn't taken away the titles." 1st, it's not the NFL who hasn't taken away the titles. It's Robert Kraft's best friend Roger Goodell who hasn't taken away the titles. Peter Rozelle, Paul Tagliabue, any other Commissioner would already taken away the titles. But Kraft has his best friend Goodell to protect him. 2nd, MLB hasn't taken away any of the home run stats or records from the steroids era. But everyone knows those stats and records were achieved by steroids just like everyone knows the Patriots accomplishments were achieved by cheating.

You mean only intelligent fans within New England admire the Patriots? Come on, there are also intelligent fans outside of NE. There are many fine intelligent fans on this forum who are not NE Patriots fans. Are you suggesting otherwise? Hell, Jimmy Johnson and Tony Romo are big Patriots fans. Are you saying they are stupid? Nice fairytale, dude. Rozelle and Tagliabue presided over the "if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying" Raiders and 49ers glory years. Hell, Joe Montana has admitted that the 49ers frequently "skirted" the rules to win their championships. ... and, of course, Dallas Cowboys Jimmy Johnson has admitted that he and others filmed the opponents sideline during Tagliabue's tenure. Clearly, both commissioners understood that ticky tack things like camera location and football pressure are not grounds for severe punishment. So, no. You are 100% wrong, again. ... Not very "intelligent" of you. LOL!

What the fuck do you think this is, a game of croquet in the front yard with the children? "Mommy, Timmy moved his ball, HE CHEATED!" Are you that delusional? This is a billion dollar industry, teams are going to use every advantage to get ahead. There was just a play in thr Bears-packers game where a defender grabbed a Packers jersey. Should the Bears player have taken the flag out of the ref's pocket and called himself?
Either you are trying to get us to think you are Saint DC fan or you have your head all the way up your ass.

On the contrary, Johnson specifically told the interviewer that the camera guy was in the booth. Filming from the booth (Which the Cowboys did) isn't against the rules and isn't cheating. Filming from the sidelines (which the Patriots did) is against the rules and is cheating.
