And don't name anyone that won't take order from Queen Kennedy Kennedy isn't top dog, folks. I know everyone likes to scapegoat her but she has bosses she has to answer to as well. In the end, Disney says what goes. They own Star Wars. Not Kennedy. If Kennedy doesn't deliver to their expectations, she will be fired. Thus, she has to run things in a way she deems correct because it's her neck on the line. Episode 7 was a hit money wise so no issue there. Rogue One had a lot of issues so it's been noted...as is the issues with the Solo movie. Both are her fault and I know Disney executives blame her for it - as they should! It sounds like them dropping Colin was the way of preemptively removing possible mistakes down the line.

How bout the guy who directed Moon? His only big-budget film, 'Warcraft', didn't go well even though he was a huge fan of that series. Granted, part of it is because they were adapting the first game, but still...
Besides, he's probably too busy with 'Mute'.

I wouldn't mind if they go with one of these directors: -Brad Bird -Guillermo del Toro -J.J. Abrams -James Gunn -Joe Johnston (he proved that he still has skills with 'Captain America: The First Avenger') -Niki Caro -Peter Jackson (yes, I'm serious!) -Rob Minkoff (seriously, his resume isn't too bad at all) -Steven Spielberg (I mean, why not?)

Joe Johnston or Abrams can return.ย If I'm going with an honest answer, I'd say Joe Johnston as well. He really captures that classic '70s and '80s style of filmmaking in all of his work. Abrams, though, really should just come back. Not because I want it, but because he has proven that he will act as a puppet director for executive decisions. That's not always a bad thing, but it also makes him an easy pick for Kennedy.

Thank goodness for 'Captain America: The First Avenger'. His career was in a toilet after 'The Wolfman'.

Mat Reeves obviously. As fallback I will accept: - Ryan Johnson (if he prevails with Ep8), - Brad Bird - Ron Howard or even good old Georg if he remains assistant director. Those who say J.J. Abrams, James Gunn, BarkingBaphomed or M Bay are just trolls who hate Star Wars and should burn in Star Wars hell.

And don't name anyone that won't take order from Queen Kennedy Kennedy isn't top dog, folks. no but she's top bitch, and that is bad enough. She makes daily and artistic hiring decision, she's like the director (company or film) who of course answers to the board and/or shareholders. But in the end it's the most powerful executive decision-making position in the company, far away from a scapegoat.
