They'll pull BvS out of somewhere when they can figured out something high in numbers from it. The only reason they are using Suicide Squad is because of the Oscar for make-up. It lost to Civil War both in the U.S. and internationally and won a bunch of Razzies. Good luck to them with that. And by the end of the week, our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is about to surpass the DC Trinity, but fuck, the DC trinity can't even come close to the original that came out in 2002. But no blind DC fanboys, keep talking all the shit about Wonder Woman.

I mean, I still think it's a very good movie. The only good DCEU movie, but I feel like it's been overexposed this summer. Yeah, it's a great achievement, but do we need female YouTube critics like Grace Randolph praising the hell out of it talking about its chances for Best Picture at the Oscars? It's not going to happen.

I don't think it'll get in for Best Visual Effects either. They're not bad, but this summer, Guardians, Apes, and Spider-Man looked more visually impressive. Thor: Ragnarok looks visually stunning, of course Star Wars is always in the mix, and I'm hearing great stuff about Guillermo del Toro's The Shape of Water.

A lot of competition this year for that award.

Wonder Woman isn't in the running for Best Visual Effects. Wonder Woman is in the running for Best Picture and Best Director. Best Visual Effects is a minor category that nobody (other than the nominees) give a shit about (like the worldwide box office, which the studios don't give a shit about since they keep very little of it). Best Picture and Best Director are major categories and are the big prizes that Wonder Woman is aiming to be the 1st superhero movie to receive Oscar nominations for in major categories.

Wonder Woman probably won't win the Best Picture Oscar but it has a good chance to be nominated. Same with the Best Director Oscar.

It probably won't even be nominated for both. Like I said, if there's one blockbuster this year that will be a major contender, it would be Blade Runner 2049. The Shape of Water also looks like a major contender. Look I really liked Wonder Woman, but let's face it, the Academy won't go for a superhero film, but maybe there's a chance. It can do well female Academy members, and they'll push it for major contention.

Wonder Woman has a good chance to be nominated for both the Best Picture Oscar and the Best Director Oscar. the Academy won't go for a superhero film A lot of it will depend on the Golden Globes. If the Golden Globes, which last year nominated a CBM for Best Picture for the 1st time ever ( Deadpool, although that was for a Comedy category), nominates Wonder Woman for Best Picture in the Drama category, then that increases the chances that the Academy will nominate Wonder Woman for a Best Picture Oscar (the Academy has nominated 40 of the last 45 movies that the Golden Globes nominated for Best Picture).

If WW is going to voted for best director (one of the 5 best directed films of the year!!) it will be purely tokenism. If the Academy are looking for tokensim, or even want to give a woman the nomination on merit, I think Kathryn Bigelow for Detroit or Sofia Coppola for The Beguiled will will get a nod before Jenkins.
