I'm only asking because all y'all have made this place a fucking drag, it's become so uninteresting. And what's worse is that I can't figure out what's worse, this toxic place or the circle jerk called Reddit.

It's been going almost 10 years and in that time it's been getting progressively worse, can't see it slowing down any time soon.

If one is as bored by the circling merry-go-round as by and the toxic bumper car racing one might have outgrown the amusement park entirely. It's only natural.

You're right. Both of the boards are annoying as all hell right now.
I also find it hilarious how all of these "new" members start popping up once these arguments start to get steam. I wonder where they came from all of the sudden?

I will pick a side one day so the boards get more interesting. I'll be a DC fan on this board and Marvel fan on the other. As long as I don't forget where I am, and I will, it'll work out fine.

And what's worse is that I can't figure out what's worse, this toxic place or the circle jerk called Reddit. When the DCEU makes movies that are as popular as the MCU. And I'm not saying that to be a MCU fanboy. If, from now on, the DCEU makes decent movies that get people to want to see them (and not the vocal DCEU fanboys) then there will be a party. But, at the same time, I think there will be fanboys on both sides that still will say theirs is better. I really hope the movies become as good as the animated movies, shows and live action shows.

This is why I've always attempted to be a voice of moderation, reason, and rationality around here.

We need similar rules, like reddit.com. Such as "don't be a fanboy" or some kind. And the boards will more peaceful then.

Marvel was talking about the fan factions when they coined the term "Infinity War"...

It will never go away, I think it'll only get worse the further you go into it. Justice League is coming out soon so of course there will be the comparisons to The Avengers.
I've never really understood. They're both very similar, they each involve superheros who dress up in tights and save the day. This is like the all the console wars between Playstation and Xbox even though they are almost the same thing with 90% of the same games.
Even Marvel and DC themselves get a long pretty well as they've had crossover comics. When DC moved headquarters, Marvel put out a message to honor them.
All this constant bickering ruined IMDb and it's doing the same for the this place as well.

If Justice League is the same quality of SS and BvS, then not much longer.

As long as...
a) someone from one fanbase reacts to someone from the other fanbases stupidity b) someone from one fanbase reacts to someone from the other fanbases different opinion c) people keep stirring the pot for shits'n'giggles d) there are oversensitive idiots on both sides e) there isn't a true, quantifiable way to measure how good a film actually is (and even then it'll continue)

It's been going almost 10 years and in that time it's been getting progressively worse, can't see it slowing down any time soon. I actually wonder what it would be like if both companies were doing well instead of how imbalanced it has been. Would the rivalry be more fun?

I do, and they don't bother me at all. Just stop reading what they're writing. It's great.

^^^ the irony, that is the most hilariously obtuse comment I read in months. The glass pot calling the cattle black while throwing infinity stones.

I feel like the MCU fans started it.
In 2008, The Dark Knight destoryed Iron Man at the Box Office. The Dark Knight was getting critical acclaim, won an acting oscar, was named 'best CBM ever" by so many people etc...
Then Green Lantern came out and the MCU fans jumped on that like a dog in heat. They finally had something to make fun of DC fans for. Then the DC fans just said "Well, that wasn't Nolan. Also, that was DC's attempt to copy Marvel. It's just as good as a Marvel film."
Then TDKR came out, same thing. Avengers made more money and the MCU fans touted it over the DC fans heads. DC fans were saying "It was due to the theater shooting, it gave it a bad stigma. Plus, that was a Batman SOLO film, Avengers was a team up film."
It wasn't until Man of Steel that the DC fans started really having a lot to say. The MCU fans started playing the victim and talking about how awesome their universe was, etc... I personally feel MoS was good, but so many people are divided on it.
I'm not going to go into history about it, but from there it's just become worse and worse.
