with a 7-2 win in Winnipeg. The new, old guy Marleau scores 2 goals. The NHL's best half-Mexican player, ROY winner Matthews scores a goal and 3 points. The best goalie Denmark has ever produced, Anderson makes 35 saves.
Half a century of letdowns will end this season. (right?)

Not if they run into the Oilers in the Final. Connor McDavid sexy hat trick in a 3-0 over the Flames.

Who can stop the Leafs' offensive output? They were nice enough to not give their fans another boring, blowout win so they let the Rangers come back and tie it, but unlike last year when they blew a lot of multi-goal leads, they got it together and still won the game.

Leafs play cat and mouse with Chicago. They let 'em think they were escaping with a win, then pounced on them in third with 2 goals to tie it up and then bit their head off in OT with a nice goal by Matthews.

Incredible game tonight. Completely dominated Chicago after the first. Chicago couldn't get a shot on goal when Auston Matthews was on the ice and his OT winner was unstoppable. By the end of the season, people will realize that he really is in the same league as McDavid and Crosby.
Also think Borgman will be in the top 4 by midseason.

That was the kind of game they lost by a goal in regulation last season. Impressive.

Who needs luck when we have the most talented half-Mexican NHLer ever.

Who needs luck when we have the most talented half-Mexican NHLer ever. On second thought, to be on the safe side I hope the Leafs do NOT win the Stanley Cup. The last time they did was in the year I was born. What if there is some kind of symmetry in play that will kill me if and when they win it again?

Shouldn't you want the Leafs to NOT win regardless?

I live in Montreal and therefore I want the Habs to do well, but I don't call myself a Habs fan, and I certainly don't have anything against the Leafs. If the Habs are out of contention, I root for the other Canadian teams.

Leafs outshoot Devils 50-31 but lose. Giving up SH goal on 2-man advantage was in a nutshell how they played.

Toronto takes down Montreal for the first time in 15 games. Matthews with another OT winner. I can smell the Silver Chalice.
