Captain America: Civil War Captain America: The Winter Soldier Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 The Avengers Spider-man Homecoming Guardians of the Galaxy Doctor Strange Iron Man Ant-man Avengers: Age of Ultron Captain America: The First Avenger The Incredible Hulk Thor Iron Man 3 Iron Man 2 Thor: The Dark World From top to bottom this is my list. Hulk was my first superhero and will never be last in my book. And I'd still give TDW a 6.5/10 so it isnt that bad. Yeah I just don't do lists, because usually I pick one up and I can think of 4 or 5 at least that I like just as much, and I wouldn't give any of them lower than a 7. TDW I'd probably say is a 7.5.
What is it you think puts it at the bottom, because I've never really understand the "it's the worst of the series" thing. Same for IM2. I love that film. How is that at the bottom?
I like those two less than the rest. But if I had to group... Top Civil War to Iron Man 9-8 Middle Ant-man to Thor 8-7 Bottom IM3 till TDW 7-6

Which is basically part 2 of Infinity War. Which will kill at most some characters that people don't really care about like Rhodes or Falcon Killing off characters willy-nilly is bad writing. It's why I roll my eyes at people who keep saying Tony or Steve should've died in Civil War. That happens, it would immediately skew our sympathies with the one who died.

And once they kill off a character, that's it, that's the end of the story. They will no longer appear in the movie.

If that's the case, Harry Potter doesn't have stakes because they didn't kill off their main characters. 007 will never kill off James Bond, so I guess that series doesn't have stakes. Star Wars, the list of series that don't kill off their main characters goes on. The DCEU doesn't have stakes.

Yeah, ‘Harry Potter’ series didn’t really kill off anyone important until ‘Goblet of Fire’. And by the way, any news about ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ runtime? I’ve been hearing 130 minutes and 100 minutes...

So why don't the MCU kill some characters and replace them with others? Not like they don't have hundreds to pick from

Not like they don't have hundreds to pick from Didn't they kill Yondu? Quicksilver? Please don't compare yondu or quicksilver with Han Solo. You know what they can do? Kill for real a big one.than with every movie you will think: there is chance this will be the last time I see this character, they showed they have balls. And other thing: stop announcing that every actor has already signed for other 50 movies.that way you might actually have a little suspense

I don't see you complaining about killing off major characters in the DCEU when they're guilty of the same thing.

Fine, sorry for wrongly accusing you as a DCEU fanatic. And I don't know, I'm no psychic, but I know for a fact they also have actors signed on to do multiple films if they ever get made.

Wow... only the early reactions to Thor 3 generate this much shit.
Really annoying.

Yeah, that's not only Marvel. Does it kill them to sign the actors and not announce it?

Ok well I agree that Thor 2 was great, it's just that Darcy and Selvig don't come close to ruining it for me, so we pretty much agree with that one exception.
Also, are world ending events make movies better? I just don't think you need every film to have a world ending event, and that might actually get boring if they did that, but I'm not sure if that's what you were saying or not.
And actually, I like that Marvel doesn't make everything serious. I've absolutely loved sitting in the theater during Ant Man or Guardians and people are having an amazingly good time. That's what it's all about. They're great films. They're fun. They're generate memorable experiences. I've started going to dine in theaters because it's like an event to go to these. I really don't get how you find humor to ruin them. They aren't supposed to be intense constantly like Terminator 2 or Alien or Blade Runner or the Matrix. They're supposed to be lighter, and they do a great job of that. I just feel like you're missing the point, but trying to blame it on the films.
I found the comedy with Darcy and Selvig annoying. If they were planning for that they should have given them better material like Michael Peña got in Antman, at least he was tolerable. And you did misunderstand me about world ending events. I was simply using TDW and GotG2 to compare their deficiencies with what I think Thor Ragnorok will suffer from too, the common denominator being they are all world/universe ending stories, which I think should be taken more seriously than your average save the city/girl plots. I really hope Infinity War isn't of the same tone and acty ally follows the comics seriousness. They are fun to audiences, but thats about it. I dont particularly feel audiences are blown away by most MCU films or they have any lasting memorable experiences. They are popcorn flicks with the odd exception. If thats what MCU are going for they are doing a bang up job. But I want more than simply a 2 hour entertaining one watch and forget flick. Theres little substance to these films in general imo that have any credible reasons to rewatch other than having a laugh. More films like Cap 2/Avengers/Iron man 1 and less of the phase 3 ones with over emphasis on "light heartedness". I didn't know GOTG2 had any deficiencies. And why are you anticipating a film suffering anything? Aren't you just excited for it? I know I am. It's really weird to me that this is your train of thought. Honestly I don't see what problem you had with TDW. Instead of really hoping for things you individually want in the movie, why don't you realize that they didn't make the film specifically for you, and just enjoy that they've done a great job making them?

Gotg2 is far from perfect and has deficiencies like every other MCU/comic book movie. My train of thought is I want them to address their problems and make better films. You can't be satisfied and not challenge something otherwise studios get lazy and start producing medicore films. Theyve already started to fix their villain problem in the last 2 entries as Ego and Vulture were well developed villains and not treated like trash so thats a good sign.

I honestly have no idea what deficiencies you're talking about in GOTG2. It was a beautiful film. Or with most any MCU films. I'm perfectly satisfied with everything they've done. I'm happy to get deeper villains, so if you want to crusade that ok, but I didn't have problem with the past ones and wouldn't say there was a villain problem. We had great villains in Skull, Stane, Pierce, Loki, and I don't how people include characters like Whiplash in the bad villain category. That guy was as deep as Vulture. His backstory was awesome. So yes I welcome better villains, but we're talking about improving something that was already good, not something there was a problem with. If you want to be on a crusade to never be satisfied, then ok. But I'm on the side of giving them the credit they deserve for the achievement that is the MCU.
