Jan El Señor Yes, i understand that. but... the topic is about KIDS, which is a different thing. you don't need any of that impure stuff taught to kids at such a young age as it's potentially brainwashing them into thinking it's normal/okay, when it's not. i realize once they get older they will inevitably find out about these things but they need a solid moral foundation from a young age and then hopefully they will do what's right by the time they get a bit older and exposed to those types of things. but if they are semi-corrupted at a young age in what they are taught it might be that much easier for them to go off the rails and stay that way only never to return to what's good.
jeffersoncody The pope does not approve of sinful acts(like actual sex between two of the same sex), i can assure you of this.
sure, he does not hate homosexuals but neither do i (as a general rule for me... i treat people with a basic level of respect unless they do something to really mess that up.). also, to tell someone something is a sin (which it clearly is by official Catholic church teachings and these are unchangeable teachings) is NOT hateful as you can't seem to grasp this concept.
also, while i have not looked into the details on that stuff there you mentioned about the pope... if i had to speculate, he's probably saying he apologized for homosexuals and the like being treated a bit too harshly in the church is all. but that does not give his approval that it's okay. but i imagine the liberal media will likely twist his words from time to time to make it look like it's okay or no big deal now as i have heard of some priests saying they do this here and there. that's why i would be a bit cautious in what i read about the pope in the media and would be better if we get his words from more official sources etc so we know things won't be twisted or anything of that sort.
and like i have said before... you attack me, i don't attack you. i would appreciate it if you acted a bit more civilized. this would help so that others around here get a more positive impression of you as when someone constantly bashes another person, especially when that person does not fire back or insulted you personally, it does nothing but bring others opinion of you down to a lower level. this is not a dis on you but i am sure you can see my point because it's true as when you always bashing someone else(especially when they never attacked you personally) you turn into a bully basically and obviously people don't have a positive opinion of those kinds of people.
one thing i noticed is liberals always play the race card as pretty much all conservatives are racists/homophobic blah blah blah from their point of view even though it's not true. so basically, from their point of view... if you don't support homosexuality your a hateful/racist type of person.
but anyways... it's not racist or wrong etc to say actual sex between two of the same sex is immoral/wrong because it is by official church teachings and those are free from error. so if you call me this stuff then you must think the Catholic church is these things to, right?
also, it's not that a local priest told me these things... it's simply what's said in the 'Catechism of the Catholic Church' is official church views so anything contrary to those is obviously wrong as the church is infallible when it comes to faith/moral teachings. so when i say sex between two of the same sex is a sin, it's not my personal or local priest opinions but Truth by the Catholic church which is the church Jesus Christ started and the one He guides.
also, regardless of whether i read the bible or not in it's entirety it still has no effect on what i said about homosexuality as it's still immoral/wrong. but it is true i have not read the bible in it's entirety from cover to cover but i have reads bits and pieces of scripture over the years. i know you will use this to try to make me look bad, but at the end of the day... whether i read the bible or not it changes nothing as official church teaching says actual sex between two of the same sex is a sin (i.e. wrong/immoral).
but what does that have to do with what i said? ; it does not really matter if someone comes up with some fancy insult or whatever simply because official church teachings say actual sex between two of the same sex is a sin. you guys think you know more about Jesus Christ than the Church Jesus Christ Himself started? ; sounds very unlikely.
in the end... the Truth is the Truth, it's unchangeable. but that's typically what the liberals do is just try to attack people and ruin their character etc when they don't have any real counter arguments to what you say simply because they got no real counter argument given what i said about homosexuality is the way Jesus Christ (who is part of The Holy Trinity(Father/Son(Jesus Christ)/Holy Spirit) which is God) see's it as it's a sin and while God loves all people He obviously would not act like sin is no big deal simply because sin hurts us and He wants only what's best for us. but you rebel against the Truth anyways.
my words never change simply because the Truth does not change regardless of what society thinks as the Truth is not a democracy or is something determined by whatever is popular at any given point in history. that's why no matter how much pressure the world puts on the Catholic church to change it's unchangeable teaching on homosexuality it will not change simply because they can't change things God says is wrong/immoral and then suddenly say it's okay.
i never said that whatsoever(assuming you mean actual conversation here), that's a flat out lie. if your going to claim something about what i said try making sure it's accurate.
but i really don't think you care about accuracy or truth as you just keep on spewing anything negative about me in a attempt to make me look bad.
p.s. but what i actually said that boosted my faith in God is i had something happen for me(a certain sin was completely removed from my life that i was impossible to escape on my own), through regular prayer(more specifically The Holy Rosary), that was clear proof to me that God exists. so i did not see God or anything of that sort.
FridayOnElmStreet That's not a lie. a lie is only if i make something up about you that's not true. but i just assumed you did not believe in God given how you speak about these topics with 'actual sex between two of the same sex' acting like it's totally okay with God when that's clearly not true.
also, as i have said before... God does not hate gay people, He still loves them, but obviously He cannot accept something that's sinful as sin is wrong and they need to try to change their ways to be more inline with God's way of living. i realize we are all sinners and all and it's not a easy process but we at least got to try to avoid sin etc and a very good way to start to try doing that is through regular prayer which i have a feeling many Christians probably think regular prayer is optional when it's not as that's crucial if one is going to grow closer to God.
THawk You misunderstand me a bit... having feelings of sexual attraction towards those of the same sex is not a sin in itself. but it's only if one acts on them and actually has sex with another person of the same sex as themselves is when your crossing the line and sinning.
trust me, it's pretty clear cut that sex between two of the same sex is a sin. to believe otherwise is just simply not true as here is a quick quote from Scipture...
so because i actually like to take Jesus Christ teachings a bit more seriously you think that's a bad thing? ; i am not the problem, the problem is the world going against God's way of living as like i said before the more sin there is in the world the worse things tend to get. so i am simply telling people the truth is all. so how i am a embarresment to Christians? ; those who just go-with-the-flow of the world and ignore Christ's teachings is when you got a bit of a problem, especially when one claims to be Christian they can't just act like sin is no big deal.
here is official Catholic chruch teachings on homosexuality straight out of the Cathecism of the Catholic church (it's a direct word for word copy from the Vatican's website to)...
does that sound like hate etc to you? ; i think not. i realize that won't be easy and all for those with same sex attraction but it is possible with God's help which comes through His graces which you obtain through regluar prayer etc.
@jamesavalon
Exactly! ; but they will never admit it.
liberals are just backwards at the end of the day as they tend to be against Jesus Christ in many moral things, like abortion/support of the whole gay agenda for example and abortion is a direct attack on human life which is obviously a serious matter not to be taken lightly.
one thing i always like to say... if one can't even get the abortion issue right it's not surprising they(liberals) are backwards on a lot of other things.
so with liberals on the issue of abortion... they put a persons "choice" (but that choice determines whether a human being lives or dies. does this sound good to you?) higher than a persons right to life on the issue of abortion when it should be the other way around.
but liberals sugar-coat the abortion issue under the guise of a choice with their 'Pro-Choice' label, so it looks a lot better on the surface, but it's really a issue of life/death since that's what the "choice" really is at it's core whether a baby lives or dies. conservatives label the issue correctly with "Pro-Life" and the opposite of that, which is where the liberals are at, is basically legally allowing the death of a baby to happen for basically any reason a person see's fit to. abortion is the work of the devil plain and simple and needs to be much more limited vs what it is currently as there are very few legitimate reasons one could have a abortion like of the mothers life is in danger or something like that but in that case the abortion is a unfortunate side effect to saving the mothers life as the intention was to save the mothers life but with abortion in general the intention is to end innocent human life, which is obviously wrong.
as for Hillary Clinton, she's a snake. thank God she did not get into power (if she did, she would likely be one of the most corrupt presidents we ever had if not THE most corrupt). it's nice to see Trump in there as he might actually get something good done for the people for a change as you can see everyone shady rebels hard against him and the more they do that the more good he's liking doing is the way i see it since liberals tend to be opposed to what's good in many cases. i expect this wall of negativity from the mainstream media (which is largely liberal biased) against Trump to go for his entire presidency. but all Trump really needs to worry about is basically do what he said he was doing to do and there is a decent chance he gets re-elected in 2020.
but that stuff aside... they try to claim we are intolerant but it's they are get all violent/aggressive if you oppose their views in general.
www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/07/03/christian-bakers-fined-135000-for-refusing-to-make-wedding-cake-for-lesbians.html ; now that's a bunch of BS there (shows you how 'tolerant' liberals are). those who owned the business should be protected under their religious beliefs but those shady courts try to force them to go against their beliefs and fine them. it's a joke they claimed 'pain and suffering' by those two refusing to bake them a cake simply because they could have easily went to another place near by for their cake. but they wanted to destroy those who opposed them and took it to court etc to abuse BS in the law which should have been protected under religious beliefs as their beliefs are not harming no one else and the like so their beliefs should be protected by law. people can't be expected to go against their own conscience and it's not unreasonable to ask those two to get their cake from somewhere else but instead it blows up into some hefty fine etc.
