As usual I'll be updating this OP with the verdicts, as the games happen. Whoever wants to consult the Week 7 list, it's here: imdb2.freeforums.net/thread/64384/nfl-week-7-winners-losers------ Week 8 Byes: Packers, Titans, Rams, Giants, Cardinals, Jaguars Losers: Dolphins - 40-0, OMG! They were up and down, after achieving four wins I moved them to More Evidence is Needed. There we go, the 40-0 provided the evidence necessary to move them back to the Losers list. Ravens - They beat the hapless Dolphin but lost their QB to the concussion protocol in the meantime; it doesn't bode well for them; this comes after two loses in weeks 6 and 7, so, even with this week 8 win they remain for now as losers. Browns - Since they played a bit better in London, can we just leave them there and never bring them back to the US? They are such an embarrassment! At 0-8, they are the biggest losers. Raiders - They have squandered the initial good impression and now at 3-5 they are solidifying their position as losers. Colts - They managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, and that, playing against another rather bad team. Such losers, the Colts! Bengals - Had trouble beating the Colts, and remain unconvincing and going nowhere. Chargers - After a 3-game winning streak, they lose again and slide back into the losers list due to a 3-5 record. Bears - Another team that loses a lot but sometimes looks good. Just looking good without the Ws won't cut it, though. Jets - They had some notable games and seem to always be there, competitive until the end. But then, they still lose. At 3-5 they are back to the losers list, after a brief period when they were given the benefit of the doubt. Bucs - Their ship is sinking lower and lower. Niners - Involved in a wicked contest with the Browns for the first draft pick. 0-8, enough said. LOL, DC_Fan was saying that they could beat the Eagles... Broncos - I placed the Broncos last week as losers on a gut feeling in spite of their, then, 3-3 record, and oh boy, was I right! They lost again, and looked horrible and discombobulated. This QB, tsk, tsk. 5 interceptions, and not only that, but they were horrible throws. Yep, losers, now at 3-4 and sliding down fast. Winners:Vikings - Remain in control of their division although they had some trouble with the very lowly Browns, trailing into the 3rd quarter. 6-2, definitely winners. Bills - At 5-2 they are again impressive. Good start, then some doubts, but now back to being solid members of the Winners list. Patriots - Even in victory they managed to remain unconvincing and vulnerable but after beating a resurgent Chargers team, but now at 6-2, they continue to march steadily towards the playoffs. Saints - Continue to lead the NFC South and they've won 5 in a row. Definitely looking like winners and the most likely division champs, with Atlanta and Carolina looking a lot more vulnerable. Eagles - Impressive team, making amazing plays, a pleasure to watch, the best team in the league so far, at 7-1. Seahawks - They will either win the division, or be very strong contenders for the wild card, so at 5-2 they are solidly winners now. Steelers - At 6-2 they are running away with a division that has two teams with 4 losses and one with 8 losses. It's an easy path for the Steelers. Chiefs - After a 2-game they are back, and won convincingly on Monday night. They lost to the Eagles the position of best team in the league but they are contenders. More evidence needed:Panthers - hard to have an opinion of their week 8 game since NFL Red Zone almost didn't show their game at all - must have been boring. They beat the weakest team in their division. I don't think they will win it (the Saints will) but the Panthers remain in the mix for the wild card so more evidence is needed. Cowboys - At 4-3 and with Dak and Zeke playing great again, we could place them as winners, but with the Zeke suspension looming and many other teams with similar records in the conference, it's hard to know if they'll get at least the wild card, so more evidence is needed. Falcons - another irregular team, looking shaken even in victory, and fighting with the Panthers and others in the conference for a wild card spot. Redskins - Not looking so good but still not as bad as being plain losers; if they react they might still contend for a wild card although it's becoming less likely. Could switch to losers by a hair but for now I need more evidence to place them. Lions - Exactly same case as the Redskins. I'm still giving them the benefit of the doubt although they are starting to look like losers. Texans - They have a losing record by their division is not out of reach, being that they are only 1 game behind two equally unstable teams, so more evidence is needed.

Miam Dolphins starting quarterbacks since Dan Marino retired in 2000:
Jay Fiedler Damon Huard Ray Lucas Brian Griese A.J. Feeley Sage Rosefels Gus Frerotte Joey Harrington Daunte Culpepper Cleo Lemon Trent Green John Beck Chad Pennington Chad Henne Tyler Thigpen Matt Moore Ryan Tannehill
That's 17 different quarterbacks, and not exactly Murderer's Row. Only Chad Pennington on that list didn't suck, although the jury is still out on Tannehill. You would think in 17 years and 17 quarterbacks you'd ACCIDENTALLY get one that's good.

As usual I'll be updating this OP with the verdicts, as the games happen. Whoever wants to consult the Week 7 list, it's here: imdb2.freeforums.net/thread/64384/nfl-week-7-winners-losers------ Week 8 Only one game left MNF: Broncos at Chiefs Byes: Packers, Titans, Rams, Giants, Cardinals, Jaguars Losers: Dolphins - 40-0, OMG! They were up and down, after achieving four wins I moved them to More Evidence is Needed. There we go, the 40-0 provided the evidence necessary to move them back to the Losers list. -My friend is a Dolphin fan and talking to him cracks me up. He's about as a negative a dolphins fan as I am a Houston fan. Jay Ajayi is killing my team, could have had Zeke or Gordon, nope, Jay who has....ZERO TDS! YAY. Dolphins needs Tannehill... = Losers Ravens - They beat the hapless Dolphin but lost their QB to the concussion protocol in the meantime; it doesn't bode well for them; this comes after two loses in weeks 6 and 7, so, even with this week 8 win they remain for now as losers. -Yea, Ravens are on the way down...but man that hit was Brutal. Browns - Since they played a bit better in London, can we just leave them there and never bring them back to the US? They are such an embarrassment! At 0-8, they are the biggest losers. -They had not one but 2 chances to take DeShaun Watson, yes he lost, but can you blame Watson, dude put up 38 AT SEATTLE..38! This is why Cleveland loses, yes they get our first round pick, but franchise QBs dont grow off trees. I know I know it's early, and RG3 looked to be a franchise QB but this kid seems different. He slides, he doesnt seem super concerned with his "brand" like RG3, he even blamed himself for the loss (Sorry, the D is to blame). This is what Cleveland had a chance to get and while I love getting first round picks and I hated losing ours, but it is showing to be worth it. Cleveland will regret it and now are 0-8. With Watson, I promise, they wouldnt be 0-8. = BIGGEST Losers PS - Sorry Im a Houston guy but man...this is why Cleveland loses, they passed on this kid TWICE! Raiders - They have squandered the initial good impression and now at 3-5 they are solidifying their position as losers. -I dont get Oakland..they finally look to be back and blah. Carr hasnt been having a good season tbqh. = Losers Colts - They managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, and that, playing against another rather bad team. Such losers, the Colts! -My girlfriend and her family is from Indy, and her team is in my division, but it does make me sad to see them suck this badly. = Losers Bengals - Had trouble beating the Colts, and remain unconvincing and going nowhere. -3-4 and I considered need more evidence....but no. If they miss the playoffs, this has to be it for Lewis, how much longer can this guy freaking stay!? = Losers Chargers - After a 3-game winning streak, they lose again and slide back into the losers list due to a 3-5 record. -I Still like the Chargers, but games are running out. I do see atm one open wild card slot. It is wide open...I like Gordon, there is a sliver of hope...but they cant afford to lose too many more. For this week they're = Losers Bears - Another team that loses a lot but sometimes looks good. Just looking good without the Ws won't cut it, though. -Chicago just doesnt have enough. I do like their rookie QB and think this season will help him for the future, but this season = Losers Jets - They had some notable games and seem to always be there, competitive until the end. But then, they still lose. At 3-5 they are back to the losers list, after a brief period when they were given the benefit of the doubt. -Right when you think,"maybe....maybe theyre better than we thought." Well,"they are what we thought they were...," but teams arent letting them off the hook. = Losers Bucs - Their ship is sinking lower and lower. -I really had promise for this team. 2-5...theyre by far = Losers Niners - Involved in a wicked contest with the Browns for the first draft pick. 0-8, enough said. LOL, DC_Fan was saying that they could beat the Eagles... -Who will win the first pick! 49ers or the Browns? I think SF is winning it sadly. LMAO, and DC_Fan is wrong again, nothing new for that kid. Like DC_Fan SF are = Losers Winners:Vikings - Remain in control of their division although they had some trouble with the very lowly Browns, trailing into the 3rd quarter. 6-2, definitely winners. -When Cook went down I thought,"theyre in trouble." Man...Thunder and lightning (McKinnon and Murray) are picking up the slack. Now GB is dead....they almost got this division on lock. = Winner winner chicken dinnerBills - At 5-2 they are again impressive. Good start, then some doubts, but now back to being solid members of the Winners list. -I dont trust Buffalo, I dont. I cant say losers or need more evidence, not being 5-2. Mark my words, I do think theyll make a wild card slot...but theyll lose in round one. Still, only 1/3 of teams make the playoffs = Winners Patriots - Even in victory they managed to remain unconvincing and vulnerable but after beating a resurgent Chargers team, but now at 6-2, they continue to march steadily towards the playoffs. -It's NE...they will find a way. Theyll end up in the AFC championship game like always. I also think Gordon and the chargers are no joke, with Brady and Bellicheck they will find a way. 6-2 is all that matters, and unlike Buffalo, how can you beat against B&B?? = Winners Saints - Continue to lead the NFC South and they've won 5 in a row. Definitely looking like winners and the most likely division champs, with Atlanta and Carolina looking a lot more vulnerable. -This team looked to have one of the all time bad defense, and now...5 in a row. Ingram looks amazing, Alvin Kamara is like a cheap version of McKinnon or Sproles, a fire plug. Brees, Thomas.....they got weapons. Atlanta looks to have super bowl blues and idk what to make of Carolina. Deep division (Poor TB). You could almost make a case 3 teams could make the playoffs....but the NFC is deep. Eagles and Cowboys, Seattle and Rams, NO/Car/Atl. AFC imho doesnt have as many strong teams as the NFC....it almost looks like you could need 11 games to make the playoffs here. NO on a 5 game streak = Winners. Eagles - Impressive team, making amazing plays, a pleasure to watch, the best team in the league so far, at 7-1. -I thought this would be the Giants (OK, not 7-1 but I thought the Giants would be 6-2 or 5-3). I didnt see this from Philly. They are atm the best team. = Winner winner chicken dinner Seahawks - They will either win the division, or be very strong contenders for the wild card, so at 5-2 they are solidly winners now. -Seattle looks awesome.....but man 41-38, what a game. I also believe they either win the division or make a wild card birth. I will say....I think theyll be exposed in the playoffs. Losing Carson hurt, Lacy sucks, they got no running game at all. Maybe they should have went for AP..idk but they need some kind of running game. Theyre winners im just talking about weaknesses that can cost them. = Winners Steelers - At 6-2 they are running away with a division that has two teams with 4 losses and one with 8 losses. It's an easy path for the Steelers. -Browns suck. Cincy is lost, Ravens arent the "Ravens." Pittsburgh looks to be fighting for 2nd seed....I think theyll either take 2-3 seed. = Winners More evidence needed:Panthers - hard to have an opinion of their week 8 game since NFL Red Zone almost didn't show their game at all - must have been boring. They beat the weakest team in their division. I don't think they will win it (the Saints will) but the Panthers remain in the mix for the wild card so more evidence is needed. -Yea, I agree, I do think they got a shot at a wild card. = NME (Ill put NME for Need more evidence) Cowboys - At 4-3 and with Dak and Zeke playing great again, we could place them as winners, but with the Zeke suspension looming and many other teams with similar records in the conference, it's hard to know if they'll get at least the wild card, so more evidence is needed. -Zeke suspension is scary. Also they face KC next...then the Falcons, Eagles, Chargers, Redskins. They could legit go 1-4. KC is no joke, Falcons are unpredictable, Eagles looks insane, Chargers hang in there, I think theyll take the Redskins, but man what a schedule. For now - NME Falcons - another irregular team, looking shaken even in victory, and fighting with the Panthers and others in the conference for a wild card spot. -Super bowl blues....how do you get over that tbh? It always seems whoever loses the super bowl they dont look the same next year. Theyre in the hunt though...but as I said earlier, I see 4 teams who can get the wild card (Not talking about division winners, I see 8 good teams in the NFC). ATM I think Min/Eagles take their division. NO Ill lean too and Rams or Seattle...idk, I think both make it. Now we got Atl/NO/Dal, 3 teams one slot. = NME Redskins - Not looking so good but still not as bad as being plain losers; if they react they might still contend for a wild card although it's becoming less likely. Could switch to losers by a hair but for now I need more evidence to place them. -NFC is too deep, I dont like what Im seeing. I see them as = Losers Lions - Exactly same case as the Redskins. I'm still giving them the benefit of the doubt although they are starting to look like losers. NFC is just too deep, I think they either have to win the division or theyre out. I dont like their chances. = Losers Texans - They have a losing record by their division is not out of reach, being that they are only 1 game behind two equally unstable teams, so more evidence is needed. -I was gonna say losers.....but youre right. Titans/Jags dont look dominating, at this rate Jacksonville looks to be 8-8 and idk wtf to make of Titans. Watson though.....my god is he putting points on the board. If you go to Seattle and hang 38 on them....you should win. Yeah he had a pick 6, but he knows if he doesnt score 30+ they dont win. I feel almost he has too MUCH on his shoulders. Still, theyre in the division hunt = NMESorry Im late...understand that Astros game just cost me probably 2 years of my life. If I was supposed to die at 75..Im gonna now at 73. Ok sorry to bring baseball up but jesus we are SOOO CLOSE. So this week only 2. (Unless we disagree on MNF game, Broncos and Chiefs). Redskins = I dont see it for them. I named 8 teams I think make the playoffs in the NFC: Vikings/NO/Eagles/Seattle (Or Rams). Now we got Rams/Dallas/Car/Atl (Rams or Seattle). I really think Sea and Rams make the playoffs *Unless they just choke, and it can happen). I think I lean on Dallas....but that schedule is no joke, and does Zeke stay on the field? Does ATL turn it around? Can Cam bring back Carolina. I think it's fair to say GB is finished. SF is done. Giants are done. I dont see it for Chicago. TB is done imo. I dont like Arizona. I dont like Washington. Now of course, if one of these teams (-SF/NYG) go on a massive run they got a shot. I sadly just dont see it. Im putting Washington as losers. Detroit - I believed in them, I thought they had a legit shot to be a wild card team. Of course anything can happen (Example - GB, looked to be a playoff contender now it's looking like a lost season). Of course if Cam goes down or Zeke is suspended the 6, or Julio gets hurt, or Gurley goes down the season can change, but Im looking at the landscape as is....and I dont see it good for Det, unless an injury happens or they catch fire and another team catches a cold. It can of course change, but this is how I see it for week 8! So Chi/Washington I got as losers, besides that, we agree on all else! Now for MNF (Awhile away).

Colts record in first halves: 5-2-1 Colts record in second halves: 0-8 Kill me. My gf is from Indy, and her family. Now Im in Houston so I gotta root for Indianapolis to lose, but I hate seeing it this way. All I can say....maybe let Luck rest, take a top 10 defensive or offensive weapon, you guys can come back strong next season. (I know I know I hate the next season bs too!) It does almost seem like a lost season....but hey, this is the AFC south and you guys are really only two games out. (Well....2.5, as you guys havent had a bye yet). (Week 11 is your bye). Crazier things have happened.

We practically agreed 100% this time, since the only two we disagreed upon, the Redskins and the Lions, it was because I placed them as NME while you got them as losers, but I did say, respectively "could switch to losers" and "starting to look like losers" so I think our disagreement is just one of timing: I'm about to do like you and switch them to losers but unlike you, I'm giving them one more week. But I think the end result will indeed be that they'll end up losers, that is, won't make the playoffs. Good comments!

I feel that the Colts' problems do not only stem from Luck's absence. They have other issues too. Even if he comes back, he'll be rusty, and it will be too little too late. I think they are doomed.

I know people hate "tanking," but id tank if I was the colts, get a top 5 pick, let Luck rest for the year. Get a good piece or two in the draft and a free agent. We have seen it time and time again, a team goes from the cellar, and comes out of no where. Heck look at Jacksonville, while only 4-3, I dont think many expected that. Eagles, bottom last year, going 7-9. Theyre ALREADY at seven wins this year! Heck look at the Rams, 4-12 (Not at the bottom because SF Is so so bad) and look at them this year. Things can change quick, a good pick or two in the draft (If they tank and get even a top 10 pick) and a good free agent...or two...or heck three, and youre in business.

Sorry Im late...understand that Astros game just cost me probably 2 years of my life. Youre right tbh....Im looking at the NFC and man it looks TOUGH! Imagine if GB still had Aaron! I mean Minnesota/Eagles/NO/Seattle/Rams/Dallas/Carolina/Atlanta (And it could have been GB too!) But because Aaron is gone I think it's safe to safe GB is doomed. Of those 8 teams....only 6 can get in, and I can make a case for all 8 tbh. I just sadly think Det/Wash will be looking up, so maybe I am going a "little" ahead. SO we do nearly agree on everything. Man....I honestly think you might have to win 11 games to make the playoffs. If one wins 10, we could see something like when NE missed the playoffs in 2008 with an 11-5 record. It's gonna be tough. I really do think we see: Eagles Seattle Minnesota Rams (Wild Card) NO/Atl/Carolina is so close, Im not sure who wins yet. Whoever does....it leaves imho one slot left for two of three of those teams V. Dallas. Now AFC.....looks basic atm; NE Pit KC (AFC South?) Buffalo Again it can all change, and we got a ways to go of course. A lot of teams in the AFC are still in it. (Poor Cleveland) Now idk who wins the south yet, but IDK who even to pick right now for the 6th seed. Broncos? Can Oakland come back? Can AFC south have two teams? Can the LAC come back? Im not sure, while to me, NFC looks to be an 8 team race, AFC looks to have a lot of teams trying for that 6th slot.
