Seriously...
Every post in this thread is some sort of deep analysis about them as if they meant anything...
I am honestly asking why you care so much?

Cause nobody has seen the film yet so they are the best available barometer of success/failure. Yet time and time again the DCEU in particular has proven both sites useless in determining actual success. If they were accurate, the DCEU would have died after BvS. So what is the point of analyzing the "Final RT or Metacritic" scores?

Appeal to authority and guidance as to what is good and bad. Appeal to authority? How so? You said that because an authority thinks something, it must therefore be true. Elements of badwagon-ing too. Like a child unable to thin of it's own. It's easier than to analyze and argue for yourself.

People are generally lazy. Most of these people won't actually spend the time to read the reviews themselves.
So they go to Rotten Tomatoes and it quickly spells it out because see a number and then they feel that's told them what they need to know.
The site has got criticism from actual film makers for that very thing.

Most of them clearly don't like the movie. The critics I tend to put some faith in because their taste in movies usually aligns with mine, absolutely hate the movie. Based on history, there is a strong chance I will agree with them.

But that's one or two critics...and I totally buy that. Look up that critic, read their review, make your decision. Why do RT and Metacritic matter? And even more to the point, why do their ultimate scores matter?

I guess they have an effect to some degree on the BO unless there is nothing else in theaters to watch (Suicide Squad). Ultimately they mean nothing but until people have seen the movie, they hold plenty of conversational value.

In general, people really don't think about RT or Metacritic. The general public will go see it and not really care about the reviews. It'll still make money folks, there's no doubt about that. It's just shameful that WB/DC apparently put these great characters into the wrong hands.
But back to topic...most people will not even care about RT or Metacritic.

Seriously... Every post in this thread is some sort of deep analysis about them as if they meant anything... I am honestly asking why you care so much? I don't care about them at all. They're just a nice way to break balls because everyone else is so caught up in them. If you want to know why they matter so much, the answer is human nature. The Devil makes it easy for me. Hee hee hee...

I don't I just love rubbing it in the arrogant faces of DCEU fans who love to start trouble all the time on the other board.

The funny thing is that a lot of the people who are saying RT and Metacritic are irrelevant would say they are relevant if the movie had a high score.

I don't I just love rubbing it in the arrogant faces of DCEU fans who love to start trouble all the time on the other board. A quick glance shows the mcu Klan starts by far the most bait threads on these boards so why exactly are y'all always blaming everyone else? To answer the op. Some people are terrified at the thought of making a decision by themselves. They see a high score and it comforts them. They don't have to think when picking the movie or while watching it and then 30 minutes after it's over they have forgot who the villain in Thor 3 was as well as the plot. They MIGHT remember one of the turd jokes which apparently is the most important part of the formula.

The site has got criticism from actual film makers for that very thing. From none other than Martin Scorsese. I would like to see someone say that he doesn't know cinema
