The proof I have to offer is the underperformance of The LEGO Batman MovieA LEGO Movie? I stopped listening to your "proof" right then and there... LEGO movies are meant for young children. That's like saying the Batman Franchise is dead, because no one is buying Batman coloring books.

That's like saying the Batman Franchise is dead, because no one is buying Batman coloring books. It was a theatrical film with a wide release that was spun-off from a much more successful movie.

You must be smoking the goo stuff. Batman is coming off a huge trilogy of live action movies and while the Aflleck films haven't made as much money, he is still popular. Then there is the huge Arkham video game series. So, please shush your mouth, you make zero sense. That trilogy ended years ago, just like the video games. When I said he’s not a profitable character, I meant he’s not profitable anymore. So, Batman is still front and center in their LEGO games as well as their Injustice series. Not to mention a new Batman will be coming soon that will make profit.

.......no. Maybe stop relying on him so heavily, but remove? No All I know is that I’m burned out on the character, and I think other people are getting sick of him as well. They just have to 1. Place him in stronger films/Well received films. And 2. Give him a mini break, which we're probably getting anyways, and also by introducing new characters like WW or AQ, Flash, Cyborg, Shazam, will allow Batman to feel less overbearing

No. Not until we get a REAL Batman franchise with Batgirl, Nightwing, the Spoiler, Orphan, Clayface, Batwoman, Red Robin, Bluebird, Hawkfire, Red Hood, Batwing etc and movies of Batgirl, Nightwing, Birds of Prey, Titans, Batwoman, Deathstroke and Red Hood and the Outlaws. The Bat Family is long overdue on screen and Geoff Johns announced earlier this year we were going to get them for the very first time and the movies would FINALLY reflect the comic books. The addition of the Bat Family changes Batman movies completely and once they have established the members of screen they can retire Batman and have the others take over. Love or hate DC the Bat Family is the biggest selling entity in comic book history and makes up over 60 percent of DC. The popularity of those characters is one of the main reasons Batman has lasted this long as many people working at DC have said in the books and millions of people buy Batman comic books over the years for the Bat Family members which is why they got spinoffs and Nightwing has higher all time sales than all of the Justice League and the Avengers aside from Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Captain America.
A Bat Family movie based on ‘Batman: Eternal’, ‘Detective Comics Rebirth’, ‘End Game’ or ‘Death In the Family’ with the right writers would wipe out all the previous DC and Marvel movies and be the most successful comic book movie of all time.

No, the "DCEU" needs to be retired permanently, and anyone who worked on it needs to be FIRED.
Once that's dead and buried, we can get GOOD Batman movies again.

This is going to be something that few will likely agree with me on, but whatever the future of these movies might be, Batman as a character and property needs to go away and never be brought back. I’m not just referring to movies, I mean in general. He’s not an interesting or profitable character, and people are sick to death of him. He’s been milked to death in the comics, the DCAU (which is highly overrated by the way), video games, and movies. It’s time to stop. No more movies, no more comics, no more cartoons, nothing. I agree (except for the part where he should never be bought back). There is a simple reason that Batman never goes away no matter how fatigued readers or the general public may become with the character. A cottage industry of licensing and merchandising has been built up around him. If it slows, even for a minute, many people will lose jobs and other revenue streams. Batman is too big to fail. This is why people invest so much in producing high-quality stories and media about the character.

Well I won't say he needs to be retired permanently but I do think DC needs to dial back his exposure. Put him on leave for a bit or something before the public gets fatigued with him.

I think he'd be good as a presence. Have him cameo or even just felt in someone else's movie. I agree that they don't really need anymore Batman movies for a while, but at the same time I want to see him fight villains that hasn't shown up in a movie yet. We keep getting the Catwomans and the Jokers and the Riddlers and Two-Faces.

Then follow that up with a better-made Suicide Squad 2. Heck, just do a Nightwing movie. This way we can get more of the Batman characters without actually having to do a Batman movie.

Well, respectfully, thisguy4000 , you're the one who made the claim that he's not popular. It usually falls on the claimant to prove the claim, not on anyone else to disprove it. The proof I have to offer is the underperformance of The LEGO Batman Movie, the underperformance of JL, and the possible fact that Affleck no longer wants to play the role. That just doesn’t suggest a character who’s at the prime of his popularity. His aborted marriage to Cat Woman in the recent comics may also speak to fan fatigue. You usually don't get gimmicks like that unless a character is struggling to a certain degree.

Do Batman like how they are doing Hulk in the MCU. Not his movies, but he gets like a storyline in the background of other people's movies.

That just doesn’t suggest a character who’s at the prime of his popularity. The LEGO Batman film cost 80 million and made over 300 million. Justice League cost 300 million and made over 650 million. Could those films have made more money? Sure. But no one is going to balk at that kind of profit.

The best way to have him in the movies but scale him back would be to adapt 'Detective Comics Rebirth' with Batwoman training a new team of the Spoiler, Red Robin, Orphan, Clayface, Azrael, Batwing etc to look after Gotham 'cause Batman is getting too old to do it on his own and is also busy being a member of the 'Justice League.' There has been talk about having Batman with a new team in the solo movies and 'Detective Comics Rebirth' is the perfect storyline to do that with and could line up with 'Justice League' with Batman getting older.

I was thinking more like how Tony is in Homecoming. He's doing his own thing, but not in that way that he can't show up when needed.
