This isn’t about buying or selling. My concern is that Disney will end up monopolizing the film industry with this. That’s not a good thing. Oh, I don't know. It isn't like Fox and WB haven't bought out other studios and incorporated them before. All the Major Studios have done it, that's how they became Major. If you’re referring to WB and New Line, New Line was already owned by Time Warner anyway. Besides, Disney is already a massive studio. It doesn’t need to become even more massive.

In a perfect world, that'd be the case. But in the business world, it ain't perfect, and businesses do what they always do, seek out what they think is in their best interests and look for ways to expand if the opportunity presents itself. In Fox's case, Fox seems to be falling behind in the film side of the things, and they have things Disney is interested in, especially Avatar, the original Star Wars Trilogy prints (at least the first one, if I'm not mistaken), Fantastic Four, and X-Men. 20th Century Fox would be probably be just as much of a gold mine to Disney as Pixar, Lucasfilm and Marvel have been. Besides, Fox seems to be very much interested in selling. They're the ones trying to downsize, at least so it seems, and they could probably get the best bang for their buck by selling to Disney.

This has been going on with other studios for years and we heard nothing. Suddenly Disney is doing it and now we are supposed to be worried about "monopolies". What this is really about is Marvel getting the rights to their own characters back. Lots of fanboys don't want to see that happen. You didn't even hear this much fake complaining when Disney bought Pixar and Marvel.

Fox didn't have the nuts to make Deadpool, either. They just took credit for it after it became popular. If Ryan Reynolds had to market the movie out of his own pocket, you know Fox had no faith in it. Disney wouldn't have made it and we both know that. But I'm glad you'll get your PG Deadpool. Really happy for you. Has any of the MCU movies been PG? They all were PG13 the same as the X-men movies. Except for the Deadpool movie that went rogue from Fox and the Wolverine movie that Fox made to capitalize on Deadpool. You really think Logan would have been R if Ryan Reynolds didn't go rogue? It would have been PG13 like the rest.

Maybe it's all part of the plan...😮 Fox has no plan. They have become followers like DC. Each movie is done off the cuff now because someone else did something similar.

Hell, that FOX is willing to make movies like New Mutants and stuff is something they owe to the MCU in the first place.

As if creating controversy around RR putting the project together himself would garner publicity and positive attention to propel Deadpool's run, because everyone loves RR. Cheers!

Disney *can* make R-rated superhero movies, they just won't likely release thru their usual banner with the castle or Mickey Mouse, if they're acquiring Fox then they'll most likely release it thru that.

Again, Fox did not take a risk on Deadpool because they didn't really want it to be made. Logan was not a risk because it was made after they saw the success of Deadpool. New Mutants is not a risk because they are making it on a very low budget. Where are the other movies they said they were going to make? Gambit is finally going to be made because they are trying to play catch up. Which is said because they have been doing this since 2000. Hell, Justice League is a risk. Look how much money they put up on it.
