...to the Iron Man end credit scene?
So it's 2008 (btw, can you believe it's going to be 10 freakin' years?), and I'm 12 years old, and my parents took me and my brother out to see Iron Man. We kept hearing that you need to stay after the credits. Of course, after the movie was over, some people left the theater because end credit scenes weren't as popular as they are today. And then we see Nick Fury claiming he wasn't the only superhero in the world. And then he says "I'm here to talk to you about the Avenger Initiative."
I couldn't believe it, were they really making The Avengers movie? That's every Marvel fan's dream. I was all like, yeah right, no way they're actually going to make an Avengers movie. And here we are almost 10 years later, and Marvel just released the trailer for Avengers: Infinity War!

I was excited at the idea, but also skeptical. I wasn't sure if it could be pulled off at the time. I'm glad they did.
10 years? Fuck i'm old !

Pure excitement. My jaw hit the floor. Not only did we have Nick Fury in the flesh, but he literally name dropped The Avengers.

...to the Iron Man end credit scene? When I saw Sam Jackson come into the light with that eye patch on, as Nick Fury, The Ultimate Comics version no less, and he said the word "Avengers" I may have cum in my pants.
Earlier in the decade my dreams started coming true when they made X-men and Spiderman, and then truly great Batman movies. I thought we'd see a Spiderman movie sooner or later, but I never, NEVER, thought we'd the X-Men in a movie, or the Avengers, or Superman meeting Batman, or the Justice League, much less see movies within a shared universe. That scene was literally was a dream come true moment.
(Fun fact: Samuel Jackson owes his role as Nick Fury to artist Bryan Hitch who drew Marvels Ultimate Comics - The Ultimates, in which he used Sam Jacksons likeness to depict the character. I wonder if they've ever met and if he's ever said "thanks"?)

I thought it was awesome. I actually missed the Nick Fury bit like a dumbass until I bought the DVD six months later. When I saw what they were planning, I was at once excited and skeptical. Like there was a 50/50 shot they'd pull it off or fuck it up. No more no less.

I thought it was insane. I was also blown away by Iron Man as a movie and how good it was. Here was this relatively unknown character and they made one of the best super hero films ever from him. 2008? Damn that was a while ago. 12? I was almost 30 at the time ha ha.

I knew there was an after credit scene and that Sam Jackson was in it ahead of time so I stayed, but I didn't know who Nick Fury or The Avengers were so my reaction was "okay?" Plus the people I went with didn't particularly like Iron Man and were annoyed I made them stay for that.

I was basically like "oh that's kind of cool".
While I'm a Marvel fan I'm not this huge fan boy growing up outside of X-Men and Spider-Man. Those were the comics I had available to me to read. I never had anywhere other than the grocery store as a kid to buy comics so I was victim to what they had and it was always X-Men, Spider-Man, Supes, and Bats. Because I enjoyed the cartoons so much I always went with X-Men and Spider-Man. So when seeing Nick Fury saying the Avengers wasn't like this super excited thing for me personally. Over the years I have definately grown to love some of these characters though.

Pure excitement. I was left wondering how they would pull it off and got more and more excited as time went on.

Pure excitement. I was left wondering how they would pull it off and got more and more excited as time went on. The ones I feared the most were the first Thor and Captain America movies. Those two were tricky to pull off, but they did it.

Those two were tricky to pull off, but they did it. I actually never doubted either film once I knew who the respective directors were. I knew Branagh would deliver on a fun Thor movie and that Johnston would make a great Cap film because of The Rocketeer. Those were the ones I was looking forward to the most back in the day and they didn't let me down.

He's been such a focus of this MCU even in films that aren't technically Iron Man films such as Civil War and his smallish part in Spider-Man that I'm ok with him not getting a 4th solo. Plus I found the 3rd one to be pretty crappy too. IM1 was the only one of his solo films that I enjoyed. Cap and Thor I each liked 2 out of the 3. If one of the main stays got a 4th movie I'd want it to be Thor because of how good Ragnarok was. I'd love for Taika to do another with Thor.

IM started it all, if he doesn't die in IW, he needs a send off. I liked Thor 1& 3 enough. Anyways Thor/Iron Man teamup film would be epic sendoff

I would bet on Tony and Steve dying in IW though, they just seem like the most logical. I'd assume Hawkeye would as well.
