Ant Man is supposed to be a comedy. Have you ever read the books?
The small minority of people whining about this sort of thing has just gotten hilarious.

I'd hate to see what they'd think of the Marx brothers.

I'd hate to see what they'd think of the Marx brothers. What's really funny to be is the complete lack of understanding that with two serious films coming up in a row and probably three with Captain Marvel, booking ending those with lighter films like Ant Man, Thor, and Guardians, is a really smart move. It's part of the MCU diversity, and it's part of what keeps everybody coming back.

They yet have to put out a rotten movie still some idiots think they know better. Marvels standard bo take is 800 m and yet the movies suck. My God they are thickheaded fools #teamcolden

Marvels standard bo take is 800 m So you're saying that The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: The First Avenger, Ant-Man, Thor, Thor: The Dark World, Doctor Strange, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Iron Man 2, Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy all failed to meet standards. That's almost 60% of MCU's movies that failed to meet standards.

Antman is not meant to be comedy. did you read the books? It is, and I tell you what, if you don't understand that alternating between lighthearted fun films and serious films is a good thing, I don't know what else to tell you, other than you're missing out. It's a good thing that Thor was light, because we're about to get a serious Panther film. It's a good thing that Guardians was light, because after that we're getting a serious Infinity film. You see there are changing tones and styles in the MCU. It's what makes it good. I hope you join the party. It's been a great time.

Fuck this! Ant Man was maybe their worst movie- definately their worst debut movie for a character. And now they're describing the sequel as a rom com? What a waste of a great character!

I don't have a problem with Ant Man having lots of comedy. It all depends on what type of comedy it is. Ragnorockers was hilarious and had lots of charm, wit, and creativity. Ant Man was too generic by comparison, more like bland Hollywood humor. I'd love a fun B movie type of Ant Man movie. I don't want a rom com though.

I don't know what theater you were in, but mine had one of the best times I've ever seen in a theater so I don't see how any of the comedy could be considered off. It was fantastic.

Fair enough. But to me Ragnorockers was miles better. If Takia Watiti was directing and writing an Ant Man movie I'd be very excited. But since it's Peyton Reed and Adam McKay...

I'm really excited for Ant Man & The Wasp so I don't get not being excited, but I guess all would say is I hope as learn more you feel that way.

Ant-man was alright but the humour was very hit and miss. I suppose they needed to make a joke out of him all things considered but he wasn't a humourous character in the comic.
Ant-man, the main one was a wife beater. He beat the shit out of The Wasp. Would the movies have ever have portrayed that side of the character? Not a chance in hell.

Wow! MCU must really hate female superheroes. That would explain why MCU hasn't made a female-led superhero movie for a decade.
