SMH was a high school comedy. Now Ant-Man and Wasp will be a Rom-Com.
Of course, it's obvious what MCU is doing by making Ant-Man and Wasp a Rom-Com. Most superhero have an audience that's over 60% male viewers, but Wonder Woman became the #1 movie of the summer and #2 movie so far this year (behind only Beauty and the Beast) by being the 1st superhero movie to have an audience that's a majority of females viewers.
MCU wants to draw in those female viewers that Wonder Woman drew in large numbers, but MCU hates female superheroes and doesn't like giving them lead roles in their movies so MCU thinks they can draw in those female viewers by making a Rom-Com.

Still stands for cinematic. Also take a look at Infinity War that's clearly going to be serious same with Black Panther. Also X Men would be better off at MCU at this point given after Apocalypse it looks like the they're going to focus more on the kids and make it another Hunger Games type franchise. Also they have the writer for Fant4stic directing Dark Phoenix so I wouldn't get your hopes up. Besides, why do you keep bringing up X Men on an MCU board? Petty much? |

Another comedy? We already kind of had three this year.
Still if it's a romantic comedy then that's completely different from the others so I can appreciate that.

So? Does that mean the movie won't be any good? The first movie is one of the more comedic of the MCU films, so the sequel is naturally going to continue that which made the first so successful, its simple business logic.

To be fair here, it's Ant-Man. No one was going to take him serious, unless of course they drastically change him.
Similar to what they did with Aquaman. No one would take Aquaman seriously if they didn't change him up a bit. Seriously have you seen that outfit from the old cartoon? He looks like a femboy I'd pick up at a local gay bar for a quickie.
Now Aquaman looks like man I'd pick up to fuck my brains out!
