What an outrage and a perfect piece of bait.
How many fish you reckon to catch with this one Tex?

From the Christian Science Monitor:
It's weird we place so much pomp around where and how we bury the dead, whereas these kids got a pit that became a septic tank.

Sad, but not really unexpected. My guess is that many of these children were "children of shame", born out of wedlock or with some other stigma (in the eyes of Catholics).
The article doesn't confirm my suspicion, but Irish Catholic orphanages aren't known for their compassion. Magdalene Sisters anyone?

Gah. That movie was one long exercise in anger.

The treatment of unwed mothers and their children by these catholic organisations was nothing short of evil. I see Blade has come along to show the exact sort of attitude which led to mass graves for these unwanted human beings.

Yes, it was a terrible attempt at trolling. Predictable though.

Yes, it was a terrible attempt at trolling. Predictable though. Imagine what you'd have done if you'd been treated like these women having been an unwed mother yourself.

It's not like poor orphans can afford a nice funeral.
They got buried, someone probably said a few prayers.. it's all good.

No surprise there. The catholic church is a truly evil organisation.

I'm sorry nobody took your bait Tex. Why don't you try the "Vatican age of consent is 12" again? It might be worth a shot.

No surprise there. The catholic church is a truly evil organisation. I think what confuses me about this whole thing is the rate at which the kids seemed to die... malnutrition, neglect... maybe the parish was impoverished but the church certainly wasn't. If it came down from the Vatican in some fashion that the sisterhood was encouraged to "liberate" these kids from their unwed mothers, I'd expect a rich organization like the Vatican to provide for them. Otherwise what was the point?
