I wouldnt say The Wolverine was a down. It was recieved generally well and once again Fox gave us something completely different from the usual comic book movie genre with its Japanese-Yakuza story. the wolverine had 2 very good arcs and a downer. Weird year for comic films of 2013. Man of steel Thor Iron man 3 The wolverine. The wolverine was the best received and less hated of the bunch. Not really, Iron Man 3 was better in every way. People were just upset because the movie's twist genuinely fooled them.

They would've liked it more if the movie had done a lame job with the twist, like Dark Knight Rises did with Talia.

IM3s success was from artificial boosts as it was released after the Avengers. Bring it out this year and it wouldnt be so well recieved as Logan did the internal conflict angle much better than Starks half-assed PTSD.

Because stark’s ptsd stuff was banned by disney for the sake of children. read it here www.comicsbeat.com/disney-rejects-tony-stark-alcoholism-storyline-from-iron-man-3/''Disney rejects Tony Stark alcoholism storyline from Iron Man 3''
iron man 3 did well because it is a transformers type of movie like most mcu films. please keep this crap away xmen, that's all i care about.

And his PTSD was handled better than Xavier's alcoholism.

I have no problem with Apocalypse. Technically, it's still a better film than Civil War.

NOPE. Not to an experienced storyteller like me. I've watched the movie many times, analyzed every detail in every shot and it works the same on me every time. You have to be full of hate and resentment to refuse to like something or appreciate something. And that's what delusional MCU fanboys like yourself have been doing with X-Men since the creation of your beloved MCU. It's sad and pathetic because you're not allowing yourselves to grow.

NOPE. Not to an experienced storyteller like me. Good thing you have little idea of what makes a good movie. Like you and the MCU, then.

Personally I loved that scene. Up til that point I thought it a solid but unremarkable film. But that twist was hilarious and pretty unexpected (IMO).

It was the biggest troll moment I have ever seen in a comic book movie.

what went wrong? not using the original material!!! both sorylines and characters Days of futures past is a 2 issue (48 pages) story, it lets a lot of place to bring in Rachel Summers, use Shadowcat as the character getting messages from the future and have some actual fighting with Sentinels ... Apocalypse ... what to say? That Apocalypse is not an old man with purple makeup that controls molecules but a very physical mutant transforming his body to create defenses and weapons, with occasional mental powers. He is IMMORTAL, thus not needing to transfer to new bodies here and then. And the most pathetic is the aberrations that are the new characters and their powers. DOFP : Warpath : an athletic guy with very sharp senses touching to ESP instead of a guy transforming into a giant. Sunspot : a Human torch clone instead of a guy covered in black with very high strength and combat ability, much later using some limited flight and fire effects. Bishop : light his gun and fires it, instead of being the most powerful energy manipulating mutant, absorbing almost any energy and converting to another or releasing the same more powerful, or increasing his physical attributes. then Apoc : Psylocke fighting with an energy sword ... Damn, she's one of the most powerful telekinetic and telepaths. And yes Apocalypse was ridiculous and quite overpowered in a bad way.

Actually, you don't know dick about Apocalypse. It's been proven here that the movie is very close in showing the way he operates. And in the comics, he was killed by The Phoenix. So Marvel Comics themselves proved that Apocalypse is not an immortal god.

And the 90s cartoon didn't even feature Kitty Pryde. Why does every one of these movies have to follow these comics to T... except when Marvel does a movie?? Look at Zemo. That is NOT the Zemo from the comics. The story of Ultron is almost completely different... but that's ok, because it's Marvel right? Why can't Fox make their own changes?? Like turning the Sentinels into real threats rather than silly plastic toys??

And the 90s cartoon didn't even feature Kitty Pryde. Yeah, they had the guts to make it about a character the show hadn't used before instead of going to easy Wolverine. Actually, it's quite in line with his first appearance. Blame Edgar Wright, he kept them from using Hank Pym.
