For a movie colector from Germany like me, this Deal is bad news. Means that movies, which Fox has the rights before, won't get a Blu-Ray release. This can even worser, if Disney starts ihis own streaming portal.

I will say their best output in my opinion (Logan, Deadpool, and First Class) never gets made under the Disney flag, so there is reason for concern there. Yeah, but Fox never would've had the balls to make Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy or Ant-Man. We talked about this the other day. I think they would have, they just probably would've been lousy movies. Hell, they're turning New Mutants into a horror movie. That takes balls. Whether the movie is any good, we won't know for a few months.

Well there's a middle ground here. I'm not going to call the MCU a deep think piece, but it's also not mindless popcorn. It's really well put together, organized, planned, thought out, character focused etc. There is genuine character progression and world building. Mindless popcorn would be something more like Batman Forever Agreed, and I'd never call the MCU mindless. It build the drama and human complexity into the story better than the other studios, that's why their movies are so good. But there are films whose sole focus have a deeper emotional tone and that's fine too. I just don't need superhero films trying so hard to be something they're not that what you end up with is unwatchable garbage. Completely agreed.

Exciting times, it'll be fun to see a fresh look for X-men, an actual good interpretation of Fantastic Four and what they can bring to the MCU as they have a whole slew of possibilities now.
I just hope they don't mess up Deadpool (and I don't think they would), they give the current X-men series a proper ending and they don't play it too safe with these properties.
Don't make X-men just another Guardians of the Galaxy set on Earth but with all the jokes. Just try and do something new with it.

I'm wondering if they'll rewrite the end of Dark Phoenix to seem more "final" now that this has happened.

I'm wondering if they'll rewrite the end of Dark Phoenix to seem more "final" now that this has happened. Yeah I'm wondering that as well. The past few X-men movies have had after scene credits or final scenes that allude to future movies. That might be scrapped with the next one.

Xavier's final monologue there worked as either a nice ending, or a new beginning. Same thing can happen here.

Yeah no more falling out if you will, the thread is just about the merge.
Obviously some will be happy, some will be concerned but keep it civil all the same.

Sorry to somewhat burst your bubble, but the Fantastic Four don’t appear to be a sure thing yet: link.

Alright ease up, one tag is enough. The discussion played out, both had their say and it's over with, there won't be anymore derailing posts.
Everyone just stick to the topic at hand.

Yeah, this is all what your little incest freaks care about, right? But surprise, cbms aren't the only movies in the world. But you guys aren't real movies fans i know. Isn't this the MCU board? So CBMs would be the part of the deal that people here would be talking about here, wouldn't it?

Well there is a pic that looks like a funeral scene that has Xavier, Storm, Beast and Cyclops. I'm guessing it's Jean's funeral. Maybe that's the ending?

Sorry to somewhat burst your bubble, but the Fantastic Four don’t appear to be a sure thing yet: link. Eh, all they have to do is call up Constantin and say "Hey, we'd like to use the FF characters and we have the distribution rights now. We'll give you a ton of cash."

Sorry to somewhat burst your bubble, but the Fantastic Four don’t appear to be a sure thing yet: link. There's no problem there at all. Constantine isn't making films themselves, and there's no benefit to them holding up any plans to use them. They only stand to gain by allowing films to be made. Or they might sell their rights.
But this isn't a problem at all. 100% Marvel starts using FF characters in the MCU. 100%

Im ambivalent towards this deal. Yes Marvel is more whole than it was and that is a good thing but Disney as a company might be too big for their own good. As I understand they will take 40% of the total box office now. They have no more competition and that cant be a good thing.
Guys Im worried and happy at the same time.
