Btw how are we going to refer to that specific Leia moment? Super Leia? Space Leia? To infinity and Leia? Leia's Birdman moment? It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's Leia?

B+ an upgrade from TFA. I must say, the hyperspace kamikaze collision was fcukin' amazing. I can't remember the last omg special effect visual like that... nailing the silence, the wide shot, the explosion... good gawd it was awesome.

3/10 and i'm generous, too much irony and self-awareness. Chewie cooking a porg was the only thing i liked.

A 3 for me. Even the prequel trilogy had a better story line. A horrible waste of time ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

6/10 for now but tempted to rate it 2/10, it makes the sequel trilogy a waste of time. I think it will take an absolute miracle for Episode IX to make this trilogy worth wile.

6/10. I enjoyed the scenes with Luke and Rey, at least. Otherwise, it seemed like I had seen everything in it before.

I'm still at a 9/10. I like how 9/10 and 1/10 are the most voted choices here. It really shows how divided everyone is on this movie.

I think The Last Jedi is the final movie that needed to deliver in order to call 2017 one of the best years for movies of the 21st century, maybe even ever. I'm not going to debate the 21st Century standing of 2017, but if you think it is the best year for films in the history of films, well then, I'd like to introduce you to 1939. A partial list: The Wizard of Oz Gone With the Wind Mr. Smith Goes to Washington Stagecoach Of Mice and Men Dark Victory The Hunchback of Notre Dame Young Mr. Lincoln The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes Beau Geste The Cat and the Canary Union Pacific Son of Frankenstein Another Thin Man And that's just a sampling. Also, not my problem if you aren't familiar with the films, doesn't make them any less valid.

He specified it as being *one* of the best, not being *the* best. And I gotta agree with him, I also thought 2017 was stellar. Obviously basing from the line up in 1939, it was a baller year for movies and some of the most influential films ever made graced the screens that year. But as far as I have been alive, I can easily say that 2017 has been the best year so far (along with 2014). Granted, I havent been around all that long.

And I think it's the best year for movies of the 21st century together with 2014 (and maybe 2006). I haven't seen every single movie from your list, but I agree that 1939 was an incredible year for movies with many iconic movies and I think a valid argument can be made for it to be the best year for movies, but that was not what I said in my post. I never said 2017 was the best year of all-time, just that it was a fantastic year for movies and possibly one of the best I can remember.

kevin and salomonj, my apologies if I read that wrong. Which is entirely possible (just ask my wife). I agree, 2017 was definitely a strong year for films, and is a contender for Top 20 status anyway (we are talking over 110+ years of films at this point). And I still encourage you to check out some of the films of 1939, considered by many film aficionado to be a peak year for films.

Of the ones you listed I've seen 'The Wizard of Oz', 'Gone With The Wind', and 'Of Mice and Men'. I'll be sure to add all the others to my ever growing watchlist.
