Everything between the opening crawl and the end of the credits was absolutely awful.

Everything between the opening crawl and the end of the credits was absolutely awful. I wouldn't go that far but it was a huge disappointment. I'm not a Star Wars fanboy so I watched it with low expectations and it didn't even reach those. TFA is a masterpiece by comparison. The 150 minute runtime felt A LOT longer. Rose was the Jar Jar of this movie-- cut her scenes completely or minimize them at least.

But what about the Chinese market that she was cynically shoehorned into the movie to assuage despite being an untalented chud of an actress who bragged and giggled about knowing nothing about Star Wars and whose ignorance shows on screen with every single shot she's in?!?!!1

Everything is based on a popcorn formula. Writing be damned. I remember in the 90s, original, interesting screenplays were a dime a dozen. So many interesting stories in the 90s. These days, writing be damned when you can find that formulaic Hollywood humor and cliche plot that average Joe doesn't have to pay too close attention to, so he can munch away on his Goobers and update FB during the movie.

And yes, part of that formula is making sure you give every person in every possible market a character they can personally relate to.

Aight is it just me or did Kylo Ren look severely dis proportioned in that shirtless scene? Part of the problem was that his pants were as high-wasted as an aging professional wrestler hiding his beer gut. Forgetting even, for a moment, the pure cringe of his inherent shirtlessness...what the hell happened to Rey in the last couple days that evolved her from thinking he was a "monster" and attempting to slice him up to where she is now, weak in the knees for a peak at his pecks? Hey, if she was a Mary Sue in TFA, Johnson certainly culled her from it with that scene. She's nothing but a cliche of a high school girl in this movie, aching for the guy who wants to slap her around drive really fast on his motorcycle...errr uhmm...speeder bike. Terrible character development for Rey right there in that scene!

Leia's Neo moment. Snoke being such a high level telepath that he can bring two powerful minds together across the galaxy without them knowing it's him, but yet can't sense one of those weaker minds igniting a light saber. The entire Yoda scene. Rose kissing Finn. All of Luke's scenes, but especially what happened at the end. The "can you hear me now" moment between Hux and Poe. And so many more, but none them compare to the sheer horror and cringe I felt during the shirtless Kylo scene. I take it you can't wait to see Rian's new trilogy... o<|;B I can honestly tell you that if RJ does indeed direct the new trilogy, the only way I'd see it is if it's about pre-OT content and I would go on a board like this first and ensure from real fans that he treated it reverently. But I am not interested in the future of this SW timeline at this point and I assume that's what he's going to do. No thanks.

I know there’s quite a collection of terrible scenes in this movie but what stood out as just horrible or cringe worthy to you? I’d say “Super Leia” had to be the worst. It was so god awful only a pathetic fanboy would defend it. Easily the worst scene in the entire saga. Super Leia was cringe worthy in execution and I did cringe. The only defense possible is that it did show that Leia has some more power than her empathy. But they could have had her do something else that wasn't so darn silly looking. I don't think it's the worst scene in the saga though. Force feeding pear slices wins that one still for me.

It was sappy but still amounted to Force lifting and pulling. He was showing off. For me (off the top of my head), Rey mind probing Kylo back without any training or even previously knowing what it was... so badly that he ran out of the room like a frightened, embarrassed, balling toddler! That was laughable. And Mary Poppins Leia. LOL

Definitely the Poe and Hux scene, i mean what the fuck? Yeah, it was so over the top it didn't even feel like SW. It was like something off those Disney channel preteen shows! And they started the movie off with that.

It's going to be even funnier when he gets thrown on the quickly-mounting heap of rejected directors and doesn't end up doing the trilogy.

Super Leia was the worst. Nothing in that scene made sense and it was completely unnecessary. I can't believe there are people in cutting room who saw this scene and decided it was a good idea to include it in the film. I mean, wtf were they thinking?
2nd place goes to when Rose and Finn are handcuffed and on the ground, about to get their heads cut off. They had laser axes placed right next to their necks and when the command was given, the executioners raised their axes above their heads to get a good swing. Why would you do that? They were freaking laser axes. All they needed to do was press the lasers through their necks and that would be that. No need to wind up for a swing. And then an explosion goes off and next thing you know Rose and Finn's handcuffs disappear and no one else is beside them. A door opens across the hall and Phasma walks out of it... wasn't she just beside Finn before the explosion giving the command to cut off their heads?

I can't believe there are people in cutting room who saw this scene and decided it was a good idea to include it in the film. I mean, wtf were they thinking? They were thinking this could be a MarySue/Rey moment for Leia. And Abrams, Johnson, and Kennedy shouted "YES!!" as they looked over the editors shoulders. Yeah I noticed that also. I don't know if they were trying to imply that Phasma had followed DJ out offscreen right before the explosion happened. But it doesn't explain the handcuffs disappearing and looked very contrived. It reminded me of how in TFA Kylo had just gotten shot by Chewbacca and was limping. He sees Rey and Finn running out of the building to head back to the Millennium Falcon and starts limping after them. Yet somehow Kylo gets ahead of them and cuts them off in the forest! LOL! This is Disney SW...
