Super Leia was the worst. Nothing in that scene made sense and it was completely unnecessary. I can't believe there are people in cutting room who saw this scene and decided it was a good idea to include it in the film. I mean, wtf were they thinking? They were thinking this could be a MarySue/Rey moment for Leia. And Abrams, Johnson, and Kennedy shouted "YES!!" as they looked over the editors shoulders. Yeah I noticed that also. I don't know if they were trying to imply that Phasma had followed DJ out offscreen right before the explosion happened. But it doesn't explain the handcuffs disappearing and looked very contrived. It reminded me of how in TFA Kylo had just gotten shot by Chewbacca and was limping. He sees Rey and Finn running out of the building to head back to the Millennium Falcon and starts limping after them. Yet somehow Kylo gets ahead of them and cuts them off in the forest! LOL! This is Disney SW..."Fuck you. We already got your money..."

Flying Leia might be up there with the worst moments in SW I though it was beautiful and finnaly we see Leia using the Force. A minor force power but still. And for those who believe you can't survive in space: Survive in space?

At the expense of: all previous canon films' Force lore, the laws of physics, all previous films' equity/credibility in terms of space combat, common sense, and the execution was goofy AF. BUT WOW LET'S JUST TURN ARE BRANEZ OFF AND STUFF POPCORN DOWN ARE GULLETZ AND WATCH A STAR WAR!!!1 Innit?

To each his own. If you want reash you can see force awakens again, wich is great but i'm so glad this was different.

If I want to watch a Star Wars movie I'll watch a canon film made by Lucas from 1977-2005.

I haven't seen the movie yet. But I know from spoilers that... The glorious squid man is murdered! So obviously that is the worst thing in the history of cinema! I thought of you when I saw that scene. How are you and your other personalities holding up?

Just a list to show the creative bankruptcy of the Director
Leia being Magneto Luke being Neo Snoke, Rey and Ren being Palpatine, Luke and Vader from Jedi The Falcon doing the Asteroid chase from Empire The Hoth Battle done worse. The Empire escape, done worse The "Only what you carry with you" scene, done worse. The ANH tractor beam scene, done worse.

I don't think the other Acks have seen the movie yet though.

Haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere yet, but I loved that scene when Finn and Rose set the space horses free and then, like a complete pair of jockeys, paused to pat themselves on the back saying something like "well if nothing else it's been worth it to set these guys free". Even though we can clearly see the herd and the local police "helicopter" overhead not too far away 😂

Did it bother you when it was done in Revenge of the Sith? Where was it been done in RotS? It was done, but a lot more artistically subtle and meaningful than in Last Jedi. In Sith Palpatine was a prisoner of Dooku and Anakin fighting Dooku to free him. Different situation to the Return of the Jedi scene? Yes, but beneath the layer Palps was of course behind it, really pulling strings on his throne and pitting his champions, Anakin and Dooku, against each other. The young to replace the old one. Like Palps did in RotJ with Vader and Luke. That is a fine example of allegory writing and foreshadowing (rhyming) as exemplified by Lucas' writing versus blatant sledge hammer rehash.
