So basically you're proud of Not falling for some fake guilt trip someone else is trying to lay on them when these layoffs have nothing to do with Disney and everything to do with Fox.
Yes.
Yawn. We all know your severe developmental disabilities preclude you from feeling empathy for other beings. So what?

You can keep your guilt trip. Not working. Yes we are happy and it's going to stay that way. Maybe you should start attacking DC fans for not campaigning to have other studios take over some of their characters so more movies can be made from DC characters. After all, think of all the jobs that were lost over the past 40 years because WB was only interested in the Batman/Superman family. Some other studio would have been making movies about the Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, etc long ago. But you won't do that, will you? Yet another fake complaint aimed at Marvel. So basically you're proud of having no conpassion for other people if it means you get to watch a few children's movies. Wow. That's... sociopathic? No my stance is what I said instead of what you just made up. That's called a Straw Man. Pretty obvious what is going on here. This will be a tactic by known Marvel haters for a reason that is fooling no one. I'll believe this concern about "jobs" when I see the same people campaigning for less R rated movies (because they have a smaller budget and create less jobs) and start campaigning for WB to give some of the DC characters to other studios since WB is not creating enough jobs with those DC characters. Until I see that, I know this entire thing is BS.

FFS, none of this has to do with DC characters. I'm not a fanatic of one side or the other. Just because somebody has a difference of opinion does not all the sudden label them an MCU "hater". I love most of the MCU the same as I loved most of the Fox X-Men movies. DC movies have only produced one film I have enjoyed since Nolan. So by no means am I some sort of hater or fanatic of one side or the other. This is not about sides. But please be quick to try and make it about DC or Marvel because that's all that exists right? I personally don't give two shits what any of you feel about it. I just felt the need to point this out and instead you all turn it into an attack because your feelings got hurt. You clearly don't give a crap if these people lose their jobs. Which makes me believe my original point.
Not all of you are fanatics in my mind so if you felt I was lumping you all together I apologize. I'm not on this board everyday or post 1,000 + times to know each and every one of you. But from what I've seen of a few posters (won't point them out) collateral damage in this does not matter because all that matters is X-Men and FF joining the MCU. The same thing can be seen on Twitter. It can be quite annoying. Also, if you then find this thread or my posts in it to be annoying as well by all means be annoyed.

What are you trying to accomplish here? What do you want Marvel fans to do? Would you like us to commiserate with you in some teary-eyed display of solidarity? That isn't fair to those of us born with a diminished capacity to empathize with our fellow human beings. What if you enjoy acts of corporate predation and firmly believe that the strong should devour the weak? Where are your tears for the psychopathic minority? Hee hee hee... Besides, Greenfield is a vocal critic of big Hollywood. " He is often quoted and often wrong." His projections are just that... projections. Those numbers could be higher, or they could be lower based on the restructuring of each acquired division. And, shouldn't Murdoch be held accountable for accepting the offer in first place? Why would you blame Marvel fans and fail to hold him responsible in any way? He should have been stronger; he should have said no to all of that money. He should have stood up to Disney's fanatical, corporate state. Shouldn't it be up to the Murdoch's to look after their jobless flock when all is said and done? They are going to be 52 billion dollars richer after all. That should make for a few tidy severance packages. In fact, Popa Murdoch has said almost as much. “We of course appreciate that change brings uncertainty,” the Murdochs wrote. “While we do not yet know what these future changes will mean for our talented colleagues, we can tell you this: we are deeply committed to finding opportunities for our people as well as ensuring that anyone impacted is well taken care of.”variety.com/2017/film/news/disney-fox-murdochs-memo-1202641583/Will you cry the same tears when he inevitably fails to deliver on this weak, corporate jargon?

Like I said before, this is sad for those people who lost their jobs...but what are we supposed to do about it? This would've happened no matter what Disney did. Yes, I have sympathy. But I feel no responsibility.

Once again, I'm not looking to blame anybody. I'm just pointing out that not all of this transaction is sunshine and rainbows. The jab at the MCU fanatics once again was not a jab at all of you. I am well aware that these layoffs were going to happen and mostly likely were inevitable. A third time, not looking to blame anyone. I do not expect people to "pour out for their fallen homies" or anything. I just felt the need to point this out and with this transaction comes a cost to a lot of people's jobs and it sucks. Do I expect all of you to care? No. But at the same time it shouldn't just be swept under the rug. In the end, this thread really isn't going to "acomplish" anything. It's just bringing light to the fact that a ton of people will lose their jobs and it'll suck for them and their families. For a fourth time, not looking to blame anybody.

Anyone who is following this deal in the media - even casually - understands what is at stake. In case you didn't know, most mergers and acquisitions that happen between multi-national corporations results in the loss of jobs. The Disney/Fox merger is not special in that regard.

First off, I have nothing against you before this somehow turns into some sort of war. Nor do I after. The topic I posted was news. I posted said news and made my own response to it. Seriously, how you interpret it is none of my concern. Fact is, I don't care how the most of you interpret shit. Feel free to think what you think. I'll do the same. As far as I know did I ever state this transaction was special in any regards? I have stated how this was probably likely to happen no matter what. However it does not change the fact that it sucks these people may/likely will lose their jobs. So by all means, turn me into some sort of villain. I don't care. Fact is, I saw an article and posted it with my own response to it. Anything further? I don't care. I'm done with this thread. As I said, I originally posted this thread drunk at what? 2 AM? Do whatever it is that you like. I'm out.

this somehow turns into some sort of war. ... So by all means, turn me into some sort of villain.... I’m done with this thread. Holy crap, is this a self-inflicted train wreck, or what? 1. You made an ignorant and inflamatory comment in the OP. This is called, being a douche-bag.2. After getting pummeled by a couple posters, you made a half-hearted effort to roll it back, but no one was buying it. This is called, being a weasel.3. You finally blamed it on being drunk when you wrote it. This is called, inability to assume responsibility for your own actions.4. You express wonderment that anyone could possibly take offense at what you said, and fire back. This is called, just plain ignorant.5. You think it’s unfair that people are portraying you as the villain in all this. This is called, proclaiming yourself the victim and begging for sympathy.6. Your solution is to flee. This is called, being a pussy.I’d call this a textbook example of what not to do when you write something that you later regret. Either offer up a real apology and take your lumps ... or dig in your heals and go down, guns blazing.

Isn't there suppose to be a WB merger? What about all the people that will lose their jobs there? The AT&T thing? I thought that got shut down. The JD is suing to block the merger on the grounds of - you guessed it - antitrust concerns. It may or may not go through. If it does go through, jobs will undoubtedly be lost. All of this so that AT&T can depict DC characters as having AT&T smartphone plans in their respective solo movies. The Flash needs unlimited data because he's going to go through it fast - hope they don't throttle him. And I hope DCEU fans are happy now. Hee hee hee... The AT&T/TW deal, at a mind-boggling 85 billion dollars, is arguably far more insidious then Disney absorbing another entity within its vertical.
