I loved this movie. I do not get the insane amount of hate for it. I would say that, at worst, it is the third best Star Wars movie. I know it sounds crazy, but I really believe that. I just watched the OT again too for comparison sake, even though I have seen them so many times. Is the movie perfect? No. The Leia scene was beyond terrible. I will admit that. Finn and the Asian chick were just okay too and the Casino planet was a waste. Fair enough. End gripes. The rest of the movie was very well done. It opens with the best space battle ever put on screen. I am not sure that can even be argued. Kylo Ren has more emotional depth through the first two movies of this new trilogy than any other character in Star Wars film history. Some of you may laugh at that, but argue it. He is a truly flawed character that is actually written well. As much as I love Han, Luke, and Leia, were they really written well? Did they really have depth? No. They are just cool characters from our favorite childhood films.
People use strong nostalgia when watching Star Wars movies now. Empire was almost perfect, but A New Hope and Return of the Jedi have a ton of problems and cheesy scenes. Sure, I still love these films, but just saying. Many of the complaints I have read are the same complaints you would have about the OT if it were not for nostalgia. The Last Jedi has some issues, but it was written well for the most part, the acting was good, and Kylo is a great character. The special effects were great too. I loved the movie and feel it is one of, if not the best, Star Wars movie. People saying it is the worst one must be smoking something better than I have ever been able to get.

"I'm not a Disney shill. Politically I'm a hateful Luddite and a troll, and professionally I'm a bureaucratic cog in the bigger machine that enables Disney's monopolistic practices! See? That means TLJ was amazing!" No, that just means you voted for a moron and have shitty taste in movies and politicians and employers. The movie was trash, and the audience scores across the web prove it!

You are not the only one. But that's OK, i only see Zero reviews or 10 reviews LOL the fandom is divided. That's not a bad thing. Same thing happened with Empire and see where that end up. The naysayers are just more vocal. I loved the new direction, the finn and rose was a bit much, i agree but they had to show them trying at the command of POE and it almost worked, but they failed. The movie was about failure and the lessons you learn. For me and the folks i went with (two adults, a teenager and a kid, all loved it) I'm Seeing this again soon! Strange new Star Wars, whats not to like. Even Luke standing in front of the walkers was epic. What's not to like?

I loved the movie and feel it is one of, if not the best, Star Wars movie. People saying it is the worst one must be smoking something better than I have ever been able to get. Where to start. Just story telling point of view, the main plot is terrible. The rebel fleet decides after getting pummelled that it might be worth getting out of the range of the Star Destroyers and despite being faster they can only maintain their distance at the edge of the First Orders effective firing range. Ok, but then for no reason, despite fighters being incredibly effective against capital ships for no reason, the First Order decides it really cares about TiE Fighter pilots and don't want them to get out of range of cover fire, despite the fact that Turbo Lasers can't hit fighters, so what are they covering the TiE fighters from? Why has nobody figured out yet that Turbo lasers cannot hit fighters and maybe installed some kind of smaller point defence type guns? Leia somehow survives an explosion and a stint in the vacuum of space, before turning into Magneto and getting back on the ship where we are told immediately that she is ok. So this serves no point except to introduce that woman from Jurassic Park to accidentally lead to the subplot. Poe then acts like a total dick because as a fighter pilot he obviously should be told all command level orders and hatches a brainless plot, seemingly lifted from Independence Day and sends our new irritating little hero off with Finn to a casino. The plot being that they can use leet hax to fly onto a military dreadnought containing Snoke and Ren and use more leet skillz to turnoff the tracker. This is ok because only one of the Star Destroyers is tracking the Rebels because plot reasons. So Finn and Rose find the leet haxxor in prison, because blind chance is how this films plot works. So they get on the Totally NOT the Death Star, get caught and then the leet haxxor sells them out, giving the secret Rebel plan to the the First Order. So this plan? Is to fly to a planet and leave the ship on transports. Which will totally work, because Leia knows every single Star Destroyer will not be trying to track transports, but Poe doesn't know this and commits mutiny but Jurassic Park woman and leia don't care because they want to Cougar the shit out of him. Luckily though the entire military of The First Order apparently doesn't bother looking out of windows and all but one Star Destroyer apparently turn off all scanners because nobody considered that the Rebels might try to abandon ship at any point, especially as they are approaching a planet..... Hux must have been glad that Finn accidentally found the leet haxxor who he was only looking for because Jurassic Park Woman didn't bother to tell anyone the secret plan to abandon ship....She does save face by heroically sacrificing herself by kamikazeing the Flag ship which for no apparent reason destroys the rest of the Totally NOT the Empire's fleet. Shame nobody though of that at Endor.......

Also, AOTC is the worst Star Wars movie easily. The writing and acting in The Last Jedi is at The Godfather's level compared to that terrible movie.

I really liked this one, but I understand that others won't. It really puts the Jedi as they were in the prequels in a light that I personally believe is the proper one, but others will vehemently oppose. It also doesn't deliver much on the mystery boxes that were put out by TFA. If you get fans that wanted the Jedi as they were in the prequels to return and wanted exciting ideas popping front the boxes, they are rightfully disappointed. Nothing wrong with hating this episode. I just happen to find a lot more to like than others do.
