I am not sure why either but some fans were very deadset on having 'Smallville' end with Clark and Chloe getting together and they hated on Lois all the time and said Lois had no chemistry with Clark and was like a sister to him when I think it was the opposite way and I am glad they didn't listen to them like the writers of 'Arrow' have with Olicity fans. Chloe was a great character though and they acknowledged her existence in 'Supergirl' this season and I am hoping they add her to future Superman movies so Clark have his best friend and Lois has her cousin. I am not sure what episodes you are up to now but I have to warn you not to get your hopes up about the Clark and Darkseid fight either 'cause much like the Clark and Doomsday fight it was very disappointing and I won't tell you what happens if you haven't seen it but I would say it was another victim of the low budget in the later seasons. Still, I think they managed to go quite well with a small budget with some characters and villains and none of the Arrowverse shows have had aliens that have looked as good as Doomsday did and it is funny when a show with a small budget beats a big Hollywood movie with their version of a character when Warner Bros had all the money under the sun compared to 'Smallville' and messed up the characters.
I remember the Checkmate episode and I am pretty sure that was right around the time Martian Manhunter got his powers back and I assume you have seen the 'Justice Society of America' double episode now too. My one problem with 'Season 9' is when they showed Lois in the future where Zod and the other Kandorians had taken over is why Clark didn't turn to Supergirl and Martian Manhunter for help along with other superheroes like Zatanna, Aquaman, Black Canary etc. Together they could have taken on Zod and his army. Heck, Martian Manhunter could have covered himself in Kryptonite and taken them all down or Zatanna could have stripped them of their powers and wiped their minds. That to me is my one biggest problem with the season and it didn't make sense. Season ten has been a huge step down from previous seasons. I still enjoy it, but it seems to be dragging its feet waiting to end. I am about half way through season ten now. I agree about the monsters looking cool. One reason I think is because they do not show much. They let you use your imagination, which always works better. Clark and Lois have no chemistry? That is hilarious. They ooze chemistry more than maybe any on-screen couple I have ever seen. Those people were off their rocker. I am hoping for a very solid ending here. I just feel this season has not been as fleshed out as previous. Yeah. You are definitely right about that and I think the main problem with Season 10 wasn't that it was horrible 'cause there were a number of episodes in it I liked and I liked the Kara episode, the episode with Booster Gold and the episode where Oliver revealed he was the Green Arrow but after such a great season with Season 9 which was one of the best seasons of the entire show in my opinion it was very disappointing as a follow up and it is a shame they couldn't have made Darkseid as good as their version of General Zodd. Their versions of Deadshot and Deathstroke left a lot to be desired in comparison to villains from previous seasons and I am not sure what they were thinking with their version of Deathstroke but that is one of the few villains I think the 'Arrowverse' has done a better job with than 'Smallville.' I think the people who were saying Clark and Lois didn't have chemistry were only saying it 'cause they didn't want them to end up together and aside from the fans that wanted to see Clark end up with Clark you had the Lana fans who were saying Clark didn't really love Lois and was still in love with Lana and if they got the Kryptonite out of Lana Clark would go back to her in a heartbeat.

I finally finished. Not a terrible ending, but the season was definitely the worst one. Lex coming back just seemed shoehorned in because it was the finale. In fact, it seemed many characters were just shoehorned in because it was the final season. Chloe was worthless this season. I have said many times on this very thread that I love her character, but she was dry and just there the final season to be there it seemed. There was no final fight and that kind of sucked, but they did a great job setting up the future Superman universe. Everything was pretty much in place. Even though it was cheese times 1,000, I liked the wedding between Lois and Clark. They had so much chemistry and it was hard to even tell they were acting the way that they looked at each other. It sounds weird, but I like it so much because it reminded me of my wife. I feel the same about her as they feel about each other on the show. It made me relate more. I really liked Oliver's character. He seemed to have the most growth the final season. All in all, I am very happy I watched this. I honestly wish there were more of this. On to Altered Carbon.

I can't believe you have finished it already. You went through that rather quickly and the last time I rewatched 'Smallville' it took me months to watch it but I was re-watching it along with another show at the time. I am glad you enjoyed it as much as I did 'cause overall I think it was a very underrated show (especially some of the latter seasons) and a lot of people who criticise 'Smallville' have never even watched the show and are just going on what other people have told them about the earlier seasons being more of a Teen Drama than a superhero show. I don't think they quite knew what to do with Chloe in the final season and it looked like they wrote her off but I think they brought her back 'cause of all the fans who were complaining when they took her out of the show for a while and that lead to them shoehorning her in just so she was there. It was a shame 'cause she come a long way in the show over 10 seasons but in the final season they really dropped the ball with her. The way they brought back Lex was not great either especially with all the clones they had and I am not sure what they were thinking killing him off before and they should have just left him in hiding and then brought him back when he was ready to return instead of doing the clones storyline. I did like the scene where Clark saw him and said "hello Clark" and that was kinda creepy and Tess gave her life wiping his memory. What did you think of that? Do you think they should have kept him with his memory of Clark having powers and being his former best friend or without it?
Yeah. The Lois and Clark relationship was good and I liked that they didn't rush into it when they first brought her into the show and if you ever watch 'Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman' let me know what you think of it 'cause that is one of my favs too and is one worth checking out. Have fun watching 'Altered Carbon.'

Now the entire Superman story is set-up, besides Lois and Clark already being married. It is definitely way better than I remember. I remember mostly cheese, but it is actually a very good show overall. I loved the show, I just feel that Season 10 is the worst one. You can tell it was over and they were pretty much just checking off boxes.

I really liked their take on Lex Luther, so much so that it's one of the reasons I dipped out after season 4. I didn't like seeing him become a bad guy.
I'm watching season 5 right now because of Spike as Brainiac. Man, it's weird watching this knowing Chloe's actress is basically a non-serial killer Susan Atkins.

I can’t get over how they trod on canon. Lex lives in Smallville, Lex knew Clark and was acquainted with him before he becomes Superman... What CANON? There have been numerous different story lines for these characters... One of the older comic book story lines did feature Clark & Lex growing up together... Lex tried to find a Kryptonite cure, but there was a lab fire, and when Superman blew out the fire, various chemical vapors in the air caused Lex to lose his hair, and that is when they became enemies... ...Clark meets every DC hero before he became Superman. I will admit, that I did have a little trouble with that... But, as I said, there have been numerous different story lines for the characters... It really wasn't much of a problem... I had more issues with some of the Villains... Such as: Doomsday. "Doomsday kills Superman", Not "Superboy"!... In addition, Bizarro was destroyed during the show... Either, these villains shouldn't have been featured, or, they shouldn't have been so "easily" defeated... It left me wondering, Who Clark was going to fight when he finally became "Superman"... Gus Gorman? LOL!

When you have 22 episodes a season for ten seasons you have to start including any characters you can I think.

On season 6. James Marsters was kinda wasted as Brainiac.
Lol, I know there's a running gag with the characters getting knocked unconscious, but how many tines has Lex been shot in this show?
