Anyone plan on re-watching the greatest television show in TV history? Marathon starts at 2:00pm (est) on AMC and runs every weekend until the end of January One of those shows IMO that never loses it's luster over time and has 'aged' well - still highly enjoyable. Drama, action, comedy, human interest stories, betrayal, lust, greed, deception - it's got it all.

Great stuff, I actually planned to rewatch the whole series sometime in the Spring - because why would I be reduced to watching reruns on AMC at weekends? I own the whole thing on DVD.

I typically do the same with 'Rescue Me' (Dennis Leary is in it about New York Firefighters) every spring (still yet to see the final couple of seasons - went downhill but the first couple of seasons were great). The thing I love about the AMC marathons (Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, etc) - if you're doing 10 things at once around the home and you're flipping channels between football, baseball, basketball, what have you - it's easily readily available if one of your favorite scenes/episodes is on and you can just flip back and forth between games and the show. Won't binge watch it - but will definitely flip back and forth and leave certain episodes on depending on what you're doing at the moment.

I was pretty obsessed with this show around season 3, season 4... after that I kinda think the show got a little TOO popular and found the fans kind of annoying, but I still loved the show.
Favorite episode would be either 4 Days Out in season 2, or the season 4 finale (the end of The Chicken Man).

I love Breaking Bad, but I can marathon whenever I want on Netflix. Why watch the commercials?

I can flip back and forth between a college basketball game, football game, clean my aquariums, order a pizza, change the oil in my car, exercise, read a book.....

It's good...not the greatest. The Wire is better.

It's good...not the greatest. The Wire is better. I own the first season. I tried. I really have. Have literally put the DVD of the first ep in half a dozen times or so over the years - but I can't seem to make it past the 1st episode. Maybe I'm just not giving it my full concentration.

Gliding Over All was my favorite. The two minute execution of Mike's employees, the pile of money and Hank's reading Leaves of Grass. What a ride.

Breaking Bad is not only my favorite TV show ever, but it's one of my favorite THINGS ever. Love it.
That being said, I have the Blu ray set and I have them all on netflix. I watch a few episodes here and there pretty regularly.
My favorite episode is Full Meassure. That scene at the end with Walt and Mike in the laundry when he tricks him and calls Jesse to kill Gale is one of the best acted scenes ever and my favorite scene of any show ever

@screamingtreefrogs
I think it's above average for most of the first 3 seasons...but I didn't think it got to a must watch point until season 4. I think I've tracked a lot of my annoyances with the show to the character of Jesse. When he matures I enjoy it much more. The first few seasons he's doing his hood thing and saying bro and bitch all the time and it just annoyed the piss out of me. Plus by season 4 Mike Ehrmentraut is more of a main character and he's he bees knees.

Jesse goes from Bad Guy (scum of the earth) to good guy who just wants to do the right things and is trying to become a man - although he falls at times and struggles with his decisions. We see Walt - a squeeky clean 'Good Guy' - a teacher with a loving family turn Evil as greed and power become his downfall

Funny thing is I've watched the whole series 4 times now.
Interestingly the two shows I have on my plate to rewatch right now are Boardwalk Empire and Oz.

Half Measure and Full Measure in season 3, and then End Times and Face/Off capping off Season 4 (off the top of my head; there are other examples). They're like movies. Season 4 in particular, when you can watch Walt's plan unfold across both episodes, just incredible stuff that never lets up. 10/10 television....(as opposed to The Walking Dead where they keep referring to a "Plan" and that everything they do is part of some greater plan, but in reality they're just walking around with the dicks in their hands, occasionally firing their weapons on infinite ammo mode). Sorry, I digress. Great call on the Full Measure scene. For me, the scene in Half Measure where Mike explains to Walt what a half measure is and how "he'll never make that mistake again"....man, Jonathan Banks owned that role as much as any supporting character has ever owned any role.

Oh yeah, Jonathan Banks was amazing. I loved Mike, though not as much as Walt. And yeah, the scene you mentioned is amazing as well. I think most of the best scenes involve Walt and Mike. Another great one is Mike's last scene, the little screaming speech he gives Walt before walking away and getting shot. Then of course his final words are the most bad ass final words ever. Oh, and he also had, in my opinion, the funniest moment on the show. It was from an episode from the middle of the first half of season 5. Don't remember off the top of my head the episode or name, but it was either 4 5 or 6. It was when he and Jesse tell Walt they are done. Mike tells him he had to throw a DEA tail. Walt gets all nervous and goes "Did they follow you???" And Mike, in the most perfect mix of sarcasm and deadpan, both in voice and facial expression, says: "No Walter, i said I threw them. i would not come to the headquarters of our illegal meth operation dragging a bunch of cops. It would be unwise" The way he said that, especially the last sentence, was just perfect and hilarious. BB had so many funny moments too. I'm curious what other ones people liked. So to quote survey enthusiast Tom Rocks: Anyone Else? ? Also, and this is super important, Jesse's dad looked a lot like former Ravens coach Brian Billick. Carry on...

Every main character is either dead, broken, or fucked in one way or another
