divtal : that sounds good. Let us know how it turns out. The flavor was good, and I'll do it again. The only problem was that it was too dry. London broils are sold in varying thicknesses. The photograph did show a much thicker cut. So, I'll need to cut the cooking time, or look for a much thicker LB.

Hopefully, the bite taken from the sandwich is from you and not the guy from the deli place.

roasted pork tenderloin & mexican street corn Ingredients 6-12 ears of corn One container of Mexican Crema Cotija Cheese, crumbled Chili powder lime, optional Instructions Grill corn in husks over medium high heat for 4-5 minutes and then flip over for even cooking. (you may also boil your corn as well but grilling it in the husks is much more authentic!) Once corn is done, carefully pull husks down and/or off (depending on how you would like to eat it) Immediately slather with Mexican Crema and then sprinkle with crumbled Cotija cheese and chili powder. Squeeze lime over top if you like! Enjoy!

Miyshiy Waraq Inab, known in English as stuffed grape leaves. I make them only twice a year because, although my friends love them and I love to give them away, it is very labor intensive to make them. In the late 1980s I wandered into a Lebanese restaurant and got to know the owner. He eventually asked me to manage the restaurant and I learned to make all kinds of Middle Eastern food. I make about 100 at a time and I must say they are delicious. These are not the Greek variety. These are stuffed with ground lamb, rice and spices. I had some for supper tonight. I am making the rest tomorrow.

Beef bowl: basically, I just fried up some lean ground beef, put in bowl with Norman Bishop Butcher's Steak Sauce, some Amazon mild chipotle sauce, and, deglazed the skillet with red wine, so I added the red wine sauce on top of everything else. Quite tasty. Accompanied with a glass of red wine. Beef: it's what's for dinner.

Heated up one of these tonight. Very, very good, as far as frozen pizzas go:
Is that a joke or did you really spend hundreds of dollars for a pizza? lol Actually, it was only $7.99. Not bad for a 10-inch pizza with those toppings.

I am making the rest tomorrow. My late aunt was Armenian, and the best cook I have ever known. She made stuffed grape leaves that could make you weep with joy. Recently, my brother found a box of her recipes, written on index cards, which he passed on to me, as he has no interest in cooking anything. I haven't been through the cards, yet, but I hope that her recipe for "Miyshiy Waraq Inab" is in there. The next step would be taking a deep breath, and working up the courage to attempt them.

My wife is cooking up barbecue for my step-dad's birthday tomorrow while i quaff beers and surf the net at the local pub. On the menu (all from scratch, including pie crust):
Spare ribs Mac n cheese (the key, according to her, is Gruyere) Cole slaw Baked beans Jalapeno corn muffins Banana cream pie
Damn, I haven't had a decent slice of banana cream pie in a couple years. Looking forward to it.

I got about a 2-cup carton of Aloo Matar (Indian-style curried peas-and-potatoes) at a local deli. I wanted some meat in it, so I chopped up some chunks of turkey breast and mixed them in. It was pretty good. Spicy, but not overpowering.
This is what the Aloo Matar looks like before the added turkey breast:

Lazy Sunday ...
Kraft Mac and cheese with added shredded sharp chedder so it actually tastes "cheese-y". Ham salad. just ham chopped with dill pickle and mustard and Miracle whipped. Broccoli - little bit of butter
Cherry-Lemonade Jell-O with canned fruit cocktail (used the canned juice as the cold liquid in the Jell-O)

Several stints later, he's in recovery and should be fine. I fully realize this is some dark humor, but my wife said, "I am so glad he had the heart attack before he ate the meal I made him, because, yeah, it's a heart attack meal and my cooking would have lived in infamy."

I'm so sorry to read here winterssuicide about your step-dad having a heart attack . Also hope he will get the proper care he needs so he can be well soon - God Speed on his healing too . At least like you said good thing it didn't happen on the afternoon of your meal that would have been more traumatic for your stepdad and everyone there also . I totally understand this from experience of other relatives having these in the past and it can be very scary when it happens .

I totally understand this from experience of other relatives having these in the past and it can be very scary when it happens . Thanks, he'll be okay. At least for now. He's male and 73 and both his parents died of heart failure (his dad died at age 59), so we know we're living on borrowed time at this point. But he was released from the hospital today, so the recovery is going well. I feel bad for him because he loves my kids more than anything in the world and I've had to say "no babysitting" for the next two weeks so that he'll get the total rest that he's supposed to get. He's not too happy with me right now because of that, but it's in his best interest. It's like, dude, you were like 20 minutes from death...the only thing you should be lifting is a spoon to your mouth and your tv remote.

Laughing is what makes you want to keep living and the desire to keep living is half the battle.
