You hope not what? They are changing and upgrading TMDB on a daily basis. It's probably gonna be the next IMDB. But then IMDB is gonna get the message boards back sooner or later. they're not updating/upgrading it to the point where it deserves any hype for being the next big thing - which i hope doesn't happen because it's a cluttered reddit-looking mess. i'm sure IMDB did their homework on whether it made financial sense to keep up the boards before pulling the plug on a service literally thousands of people were using. the boards aren't coming back, sorry. They are upgrading/updating TMDB a lot and it takes time. It looks nothing like Reddit... What are you talking about? And no, IMDB made absolutely no homework. They are gonna get back the message boards sooner or later.

The categories/subfoums are great the way they are - it makes everything so much easier to find, and that's going to be super helpful as this time goes on and posts accumulate. The "start off small" comments make no sense. It's no IMDB, but this is still a site with literally thousands of users and hundreds of active members. Yeah keep telling yourself that. Facts remain that this boards cant compete against Reddit, FB, Twitter like the original IMDB can. I hope one day soon IMDB boards return, because I and many others are already starting to get tired of this place. Half the time it feels like Nazi Germany, other times its total anarchy. No real order or structure. Oh well. Something better will come along- someone out there working on a new board just like IMDB as we speak i bet. Already exists but doesn't want all the crap of the general forums that IMDb had

I'm convinced there's a drive to get everyone signed up through FaceSpy ....sorry book by certain powerful people. they like to censor things on there.
I'm sure there's people who would love forums to die out but there's plenty of good forums out there without signing up to FaceSpy.

And i think more and more people are turning away from social media as they realise it's part of a spy grid that's being set up. anyone who posts their life on FaceSpy is an idiot.

Well I'm enjoying what's here at the moment, although I must confess this is the first Movie/Tv board I've come on and so am unfamiliar with the other sites. Questions I have are quickly answered by a knowledgeable membership.

I dont think it can last without the individual boards and I dont like the layout for MovieDB. In fact I did one search Horror Express 1972 and there are NO discussions! Damn you Jeff Bezos you %$#@! I read Amazon removed all Holocaust Revisionism books today as well. Was there too much Holocaust revisionism discussions on the Schindler's List IMDB board, is that why they pulled the plug? That's a move worthy of King Herod. ;0 They removed only 3 books from Amazon, and thats coming for a Jewish Website. I googled for a bit and couldnt find any reference to ALL Holocaust Revisionism books (the polite term for Holocaust Denial Books) being removed on Amazon. Huge exaggeration on your part? Ironic considering your point about a revisionist policy www.thejc.com/news/world/under-pressure-amazon-stops-selling-holocaust-denial-books-1.433963

I wouldn't put it past various er ...sites to put a few shills on here to try and convince people this site is no good.
i'd advise everyone not to go down the Facebook route. post on forums like this instead of Zuckerburg's surveillance tool.

The message boards are coming back. Fact. No they are not. People, please stop deluding yourselves with the idea that "one day" the IMDb boards will come back. They are gone for good, accept it! They have been deleted from the site. All of the posts have been wiped out. Just think of how nonsensical it sounds to believe that the boards will be "brought back" someday. IMDb would not have deleted them if it thought that maybe one day they would be reinstated. And also, many former IMDb users have gone elsewhere. They have moved on to other websites. For example, I heard that many of the people who used to post on the Books board have moved on to Goodreads.

Well what i'm saying doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out. there's been stories in the news over the past few days about mass surveillance by certain security agencies for a start so it doesn't take a genius to work out that everyone really is of interest. As for free speech well that's up to the owners of the site. so far this site seems good for it. i get the impression you don't like free speech very much though.

I've paid attention to the amount of active users on the forum ever since IMDB closed. For consistency around the same hours (8-10pm) In the days after IMDB went down there were roughly 230-250 users online at one time. Then compare to the numbers in the past few days and they've been closer to 130-150 users online. That's a hefty decline. The amount of users online in the past 24 hours has also decreased by a similar proportion. Posts seem to be slowing down. Before I'd refresh the home page every few seconds only to see that there'd be new posts. As of right now though there hasn't been a new post in the past 3 minutes. The forum gained 2,000 users in it's first 3 weeks by the time IMDB closed. In the 2 weeks since it's only gained another 700 users. This is exactly what I was concerned and said was going to happen. The forum would boom following IMDB's closure as regulars would want to keep the board experience alive but over time people would get over it being gone. Users would start to show up less, there'd be fewer posts, less activity, creating a snowball effect until the forum died. I said before I'd be surprised if the forum was still active a few months after IMDB closed down and I still see that as being a strong possibility. You must mean "board". This is a message board; it's not a forum. A board contains forums, which in turn contain threads. It's that simple.
