Where's the evidence message boards are dying? IMDB only died because as i've said quite a few times now .....the owners don't like free speech. it was thriving before they shut it down. And i think more and more people are turning away from social media as they realise it's part of a spy grid that's being set up. anyone who posts their life on FaceSpy is an idiot. i want to answer this seriously but anyone who engages in pathetic conspiracy bullshit to this degree deserves only ridicule. your and your life aren't important enough to interest facebook or anyone else, sorry. also nobody is entitled to "free speech" on a private forum The only thing pathetic is your stupid comments. No, there's no evidence at all, only inside your own head.

lmao i don't give a shit about imdb - it was alright but there are better fanspaces out there. but you are clearly up tmdb's ass message boards are dying, no doubt it's easier and cheaper to maintain discussions over social media like facebook and that's probably what imdb decided. unless social media disappears or becomes more costly for hosting discussions, the boards aren't coming back. I presume that IMDb MB was cancelled (it didn't die) due to legal complaints and threats from Hollywood producers who felt that they were experiencing negative impact from negative critiques of their movies from moviegoers.

Far too many Debbie Downers trying to indirectly move people to "other" dead forums This site is certainly the only real and best message board for ex-IMDbers.

I just went to themovieorg and signed up. I am not impressed - although some of the movie pages are cool, and find this site far easier to navigate. I clicked onto their General Discussions page and saw a thread - started by a notorious troll from the IMDB, which dissed this site. And not only did it diss this site, the poster concerned was upset because he was deleted here for a racist comment. He then dissed the IMDB2 moderator who deleted him. I have known this moderator since IMDB forum days, consider him an online friend, and I will not be going back to themoviedb.org. I am going to give IMDB2 my best shot and sincerely hope it succeeds and grows stronger and stronger with every day. TMDB keeps changing and changing to fit and bring even more users, many ex-IMDB members. The site is going to be huge. Who's that troll from IMDB you've seen posting on TMDB? And not posting on TMDB because of some troll makes absolutely no sense. Just ignore him. You are right Harry, I shouldn't let a troll bother me, but there are a lot of people I like on IMDB2 so I want to stay here and, hopefully, be a contributing factor in it getting bigger and better as time goes on. I also trust the judgment and sincerity of the admin on this board. And of course I still use the IMDB for my movie ratings and their links to metacrtic and other review sites, so I won't be migrating to TMDB. I don't have time to operate on two talk forums and I like the vibe here. That troll, BTW, is Ben Caesar.

There seems to be many users here and many topics daily. A site won't be active twenty four seven but so far I've enjoyed it.

The categories/subfoums are great the way they are - it makes everything so much easier to find, and that's going to be super helpful as this time goes on and posts accumulate. The "start off small" comments make no sense. It's no IMDB, but this is still a site with literally thousands of users and hundreds of active members. Yeah keep telling yourself that. Facts remain that this boards cant compete against Reddit, FB, Twitter like the original IMDB can. I hope one day soon IMDB boards return, because I and many others are already starting to get tired of this place. Half the time it feels like Nazi Germany, other times its total anarchy. No real order or structure. Oh well. Something better will come along- someone out there working on a new board just like IMDB as we speak i bet. If you don't like it, then leave. I happen to like this place more than I liked IMDb (at least when it comes to the message boards) and I'm sure a lot of people here agree.

Yea, I like this place more than IMDB as well. It's a little more cozy, and it actually feels like a nice community.

Already getting boring talking to the same 5 freaking people who dont have a job per each board on here.. This experiment is starting to look more and more like a failure. You've got a negative attitude. That's what stopping you. You gotta get your act together. I'll help you.

She's leaving. She has assessed the situation, and she's going.

The only way a board dies is if people let it die. If you are not happy with the level of activity, then simply be more active. You'd be surprised to find that you might set off a chain reaction of discussions. There are thousands of people just reading and lurking. They won't actually sign up to post unless there's something worth replying to. You can be the one that starts the next super-thread, but you won't know until you create it.
