Some creep made an overtly sexist edit of The Last Jedi, and even they think it's awfulnoted by this Reddit post, is titled The Last Jedi: The De-Feminized Fanedit, and it recently started popping up on torrent sites. In the description for the download, the anonymous creator (because you definitely don’t want to put a name on something like this) says that they essentially cut out anything that reflects positively on a female character or indicates that they’re on the same level as the male characters in any way, resulting in a feature that is—hilariously—just 46 minutes long. That’s pretty funny, considering the real movie is more than 100 minutes longer than that, but the funniest part is that even the anonymous creator seems to recognize that his monstrosity kind of sucks. “You will probably enjoy it most when you view it less as a blockbuster movie and more as some kind of episode from some non-existent mediocre Star Wars series,” the creator says, explaining that they had to go off of a bad source with technical issues just to create his terrible thing. Also, the person adds that “there are plot holes and continuity errors,” indicating that they unsurprisingly fucked up the whole plot by cutting out bunch of integral characters in service of making something that creeps could watch “without feeling nauseaus [sic].” As for what this visionary of sexism specifically cut out of The Last Jedi, the list is exhausting both because of how elaborate the edit is and for how fucking shameful it is. For starters, they completely cut Laura Dern’s Admiral Holdo out of the movie, meaning the “Holdo Maneuver” is carried out by Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron instead—so he dies halfway through the “movie.” Also, General Leia never “scolds” Poe, because he’s a perfect man hero who can do no wrong, and she gets killed by Kylo Ren (who is “much less conflicted”). They also made it so that Captain Phasma gets beaten by Finn in one hit because “women are naturally weaker than men,” that Rey isn’t “superpowered,” and that Paige Tico (the sister of Kelly Marie Tran’s character) doesn’t get to heroically bomb the bad guy ship in the beginning. Sexism aside, a lot of the edits must just make the movie objectively worse, like the aforementioned choice to cut everything that makes Kylo Ren an interesting villain and also the inexplicable decision to have Luke actually die in the big laser onslaught at the end—robbing him of the best thing he ever did. Worst of all, though, the anonymous creator makes several racist comments about Kelly Marie Tran, who is super cool and doesn’t waste her time making extremely stupid edits of Star Wars movies. Basically, it seems like the message here is that this amateur filmmaker believes that interesting characters, big stakes, and satisfying arcs are for girls, which makes you wonder if they ever actually liked Star Wars in the first place.

If having women in Star Wars offends you this much than you should probably find another franchise that's completely dominated by men.

Now someone should edit a cut without all the lame characters and nonsensical storylines.

MRA's are the biggest, most pathetic losers on the face of the earth and this just hammers the point home.

I know of a couple of users that will love it.

Maybe Disney or Soros people made it.
Most movie fans have no desire to re-edit ALIEN so Tom Skerrit beats the Alien.
"and she gets killed by Kylo Ren (who is “much less conflicted”)"
** And does a less conflicted villain automatically mean sexist? So are Vader and Tarkin in SW sexist because they have no emo problems?
Conflicted villains are pretty boring much of the time. I dont think we would benefit as an audience if Jabba the Hutt is fussing whether to feed people to the Sarlaac.

Well that sounds like a wasted of someone's time. Looks like it. That said, I can at least appreciate that they had to edit out over 100 minutes.

No edit can save that movie... I remember when you used to be such a positive, hopeful poster. Your evolution is not unlike Luke's in TLJ. I was right there with you, too. Always arguing with the cynics on the board. I remember when I thought Disney buying the franchise was the best thing ever. Look at what they've done to us, my friend.

Well, I'm just being logical about it. Episode 8 doesn't work without Luke's presence. Unfortunately, they did such a terrible job portraying what Luke would look (I never pictured Grizzly Adams) and act like 30 years later after Episode 6, that his scenes can't even be cut down to manageable small scenes. It was all bad (minus his "encounter" with Leia). So even if people cut out all the other stuff they dislike out of the movie, there's still the horrible portrayal of Luke Skywalker looming over the episode. I know...it's a terrible place to be put in. One thing I'll say about George Lucas, at least he didn't turn our hero into an asshole.

Good men get wiser, more patient, more strategic, more careful, more controlled, more concerned etc. as they get older. Luke was beyond a doubt, a classic "good man." The evolution into pure, uncaring, unconcerned asshole is mystifying. I think I heard a clip of RJ once say that once he had inherited "Luke on an island" as a plot device, he couldn't just make it so that he was a coward, so he had to think of some other reason he was out there. Well I can think of a dozen better reasons than "he was a coward," but even him being afraid is something I could have swallowed. Good men still deal with fear from time to time. Whoever this was in TLJ, he was not a "good man," and thus, he was not Luke Skywalker.
