Things like that dance off in Guardians are unessasiry. That Baskin Robbins scene in Antman was cringey.
The BR thing in Ant-Man was pretty realistic, dude says he has great training and won't have trouble finding a job but because he's a convict that's all he can get and even THEN he gets fired.
I suppose you wanted to see him being forced to work as a male prostitute.

The thomas the tank engine thing was almost worse and bizarre to me. thing with GOTG if I look at it as a full blown childish comedy, the dance off does not look as bad unlike Antman. Funny, that some are calling us hateful for saying facts. facts they cant deal with. The facts are what will blow up in MCU face when they get major blacklash in the future once they try to pretend X-Men is a soulless cgi disney product. thank god, by the time the first xmen mcu movies is out , movies like Logan, X2, FC and DOFP will still be considered fairly new and MCU will have a lot of question to answer to..like, why is X-Men now all about cgi and jokes than the grounded serious drama driven world of Logan and DOFP? the backlash will be as bad as last jedi, meanwhile Batman will return to top form with a real X-Men movie.
The thomas the tank engine thing was almost worse and bizarre to me.
So a little girl shouldn't have kid toys, got it.

No, just pretentious.

No, what will happen is that audiences will see MCU X-Men and think "Whoa, all these years we wasted on Fox when we could've gotten something authentic like this."
Ronan wasn't defeated by a dance-off, of course you'll say he did to bait people into angrily replying to you - good luck with that, but me and others recognize this juvenile tactic and are bored with it. You know Ronan didn't go down like that, stop the crap already it isn't even annoying anymore its just a tiresome eye roll.
with all due respect Judge, you know that this makes it WORSE, right? The main villain of the film was distracted by a dance off and then defeated by a magic stone (!). This is the epitome of lazy writing pandering to a lowbrow, juvenile audience.
If it was just the dance-off the scene could have been satirical like say things in The Princess Bride. The way it is it's just horribly written:
Ronan: What are you doing?
Peter Quill: Dance-off, bro. Me and you.
[holds out his hand for Gamora]
Ronan: What are you doing?
Peter Quill: I'm distracting you, you big turd blossom! Ronan: You're mortal! How...
Peter Quill: You said it, bitch. We're the Guardians of the Galaxy.
[the Guardians strike Ronan]
Actually it was pretty clever that Quill recognized that being part of an alien race like the Kree Ronan would be very easy to distract with such silly behavior because as Rocket explains earlier in the film they are by nature a very literal, no-nonsense group of people. This Drax illustrates many times in the course of the story.
Ronan was also very power hungry and thought himself to be invincible, he let his ego get the better of him and it blew up right in his face( literally). It's not much different than how Jafar in Aladdin had gotten pretty much everything that he wanted towards the climax of the film ( He became sultan, became the most powerful sorcerer in the world, was invincible) but because of how power hungry and egotistical he was Aladdin used it to his advantage and told him that he'd be always second best to Genie ( Because without him none of it would be possible), so he wished to be a genie himself but he didn't consider that he'd have no free will anymore and be confined to a lamp.

It worked and it fit Quill's character didn't it? He also used prior knowledge of the Kree and that Ronan was so full of himself something as absurd as calling for a dance-off would be such a distraction that Rocket and Drax could work behind his back.
Actually the Baskin Robbins scene isn't too far from reality. Lots of people have misconceptions about what is and what isn't on the menu with various fast food joints - I'm sure there's quite a handful of people who went to Arby's and requested a cheeseburger - even though they don't normally make them. At least, the clichéd concept of a burger anyways.

Be seen as outdated.
I think its obvious summers8 is either a troll or a young guy who discovered the Marvel universe a couple years ago thanks to the X-Men and Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies and only reads selective reading material( or reads it all on Wikipedia) tries to tell themselves that "authentic Marvel" is super serious and dark when the company has always been in the business of producing lighter and heavy fare in their entire history. In other words, a "fake" fan who might've been wowed by some rebellious person's comments years ago and is easily impressed.

No, the sad truth is that there really are X-Fans that toxic. They hate the rest of Marvel (except Spider-Man) and wish it never existed and only X-Men and Spidey were published by them.
Now the MCU has been able to make those other characters popular and these toxic fans are outright offended by this because they resented their existence in the first place.

It was a distraction, you turd-blossom! And the Baskin Robbins scene was suppose to be cringey. He was suppose to be hating his life. Not having a good time. It was showing that his life is so low that he'd want to get back into crime.

Come on now, we don't need to lower ourselves like this. We need to stay calm when replying.
People actually defending the Ronan dance distraction stunt. Deary me.
Oh please, if they'd done something silly like giving Ronan a hallucination he'd won and he was standing around laughing not realizing nothing had happened and this gave Rocket the time he needed to blast the stone away from him you'd just complain about that too.

There is no pleasing some people.
It just completely takes you out of the moment because its so unrealistic. The HISHE got it correct, Ronan in reality would have just grounded his staff and destroyed the planet when Quill started singing.

That's what a distraction is supposed to do.
Honestly, no matter WHAT was done to distract Ronan you'd be complaining.

I think you making it too easy onyourself . People are complaining because this is badly written, silly and juvenile. People would not complain if the final confrontation was clever. The Dr Strange time warp boss confrontation was pretty ok and surprising even though a rip off of other Sci Fi shows and games.
Did you know that they even made fun about the Dance Off scene in the film Passengers when Chris Pratt suggested a Dance Off and Lawrence was rolling her eyes.

No more than Back to the Future having Biff continually crash/fall into manure.
Or Wonder Woman pulling all kinds of random superpowers out of her ass in the final battle of WW but she never shows these powers in JL.
The attitude it gets, ANYTHING they did to distract Ronan would've been criticized.

Case in point, Dr Strange had an inventive way of dealing with Dormammu and all it gets is "pretty ok". Like "stab the monster with a spear" in BvS was all that smart.

Line from the movie. He called Ronan a turd-blossom. "I'm distracting you, you turd-blossom!"

I wouldn't be surprised if the dance off was Pratt's idea and he's having a good time about it. It's something that is so him.

No, Ronan reacting that way that soon would've been unrealistic. He thought he had the Guardians beat and he was beginning his "big moment", Quill sang a song and used a dancing motion totally foreign to Ronan, so of course he's going to ask "what are you doing?" and repeat it with a stronger tone.
