Really dislike how politics has seeped into every area of entertainment. Racist!

I'm rattled to my core! I'm shocked! I don't believe my eyes! A Disney movie with Twitter reactions that praise it as the "best movie of the franchise", "a game-changer", "ultra-ambitious", and "oh-so relevant to today's political climate"! Who would believe it?
...
Yeah, I'm not surprised. I just hope the movie is good. I love Coogler and Boseman is a fantastic actor, so I have hope, but these reactions mean nothing to me.

Well, MCU has had a Caucasian male as the lead character in all 17 of their movies so far. So MCU probably wanted to make sure everyone knows that the lead character in Black Panther is black. So the DC TV series Black Lightning...is it called that to make sure everyone knows the character is black? No, he's called Black Lightning not because of his race but because of his costume color. DC has had a long tradition of including costume colors in the names of their characters. For example, Green Arrow wears green while Red Arrow wears red. Black Canary wears black while White Canary wears white. Blue Beetle wears blue and Red Tornado wears red. And Green Lanterns wear green, Yellow Lanterns wear yellow, Red Lanterns wear red, etc.
MCU doesn't have that same tradition. The only other character with a color in their name is Black Widow and that's because it's referring to the spider and because it wouldn't make any sense to just call her Widow. But Black Panther could've just been called Panther. MCU probably called him Black Panther because they wanted to make sure everyone knows, after 17 movies with a Caucasian male as the lead character, this movie has a black as the lead character.

Are you really as obtuse as you seem or are you being that way on purpose? Really? DC-Fan accuses the MCU of calling him Black Panther to emphasise his race...despite being named as such since the 60s. I then point out that DC have done the same DC didn't do the same. he's called Black Lightning not because of his race but because of his costume color. DC has had a long tradition of including costume colors in the names of their characters. For example, Green Arrow wears green while Red Arrow wears red. DC has had a long tradition of including costume colors in the names of their characters. Wrong. Black Lightning was created by a Luke Cage writer and published by DC to be it's first black hero led title. They grabbed at the chance to do Black Lightning because their first planned black headliner Black Bomber was considered offensive and it's publication abandoned. Oh, and one other little nuggget of information... BLACK LIGHTNING'S COSTUME WAS BLUEI'm not arguing whether the "Black" in Black Panther refers to his race or not (which it 100% does with Black Lighning in his BLUE costume). My issue is that you claim the MCU named him Black Panther to emphasise his race despite the fact that he has had the name about 40 years before the MCU existed. Not been a good 2018 so far for you has it, what with Wonder Woman's Oscar "snub". Just when I thought you couldn't get owned any more, you went and posted in this thread.

"The Black Panther is the ceremonial title given to the chief of the Panther Tribe of the advanced African nation of Wakanda. In addition to ruling the country, he is also chief of its various tribes (collectively referred to as the Wakandas). The Panther habit is a symbol of office (head of state) and is used even during diplomatic missions. The Panther is a hereditary title, but one still must earn it" The Panther identity is based on the animal and wakanda has "cults" that have variety of animals as their symbol, including a Lion, a White Gorilla and a Crocodile. Marvel also has a character named White Tiger, but he's Puerto Rican.

lmao--"great first reactions" that's exactly what they said about the early reactions to The Last Jedi, a movie that at 49% RT Audience, is the lowest rated of all Star Wars movies

Those negative ratings are from people who hated that the new movies were about new characters at all and just wanted the old characters to be the core of everything.

Perhaps you can start 10 threads on the subject of BP's Box Office failure before it happens

Or more likely they are using the name the character has had since 1966. So the DC TV series Black Lightning...is it called that to make sure everyone knows the character is black? Lightning isn't black though is it? Panthers ARE black. Don't be so defensive bro. No, They have several colours actually. From grey to brown to black. Not all are black. That's because they are not really panthers but some kinds of Jaguar and Leopard. The More you know. And the "Black Panther" is widely know as , well "Black Panther" not just Panther. Unless it's the Pink Panther.Wich is Pink!

That said, so-called "Panthers" can be black, white or any other color that is not associated with other large cats within the same genus.

I'm waiting to see if any white person has the guts to NOT say it's perfect. Other than from the anonymity of a message board of course. Even more than Spidey's Homecoming Dance, the cast demands this movie be adored by silly white folks. I hope it's good but the trailers look generic as hell to me. Also always thought it was a bit cringey he's Black Panther as if to hammer how he's black. "hey look everyone we have a black character. Hey look at how enlightened we are." Is Iceman called WHITE Iceman? Hell no the dude is literally blinding white so it's obvious. Same with BP. His costume is onyx black and the brother is the king of an African country. "Gosh it's still not clear enough. Better tack Black on his name so he won't be confused with Orange Panther." Anyway that's my thoughts on the trailers and stuff. I smell a 100% on RT with a 9.2 average. Exactly. It's on the curve.

Silly for someone swarthy to DARE find the way white liberals name swarthy characters a bit ridiculous and cringey, innit? Please post more pictures of big cats though. We love it when you nice white folks educate us. Don't cry. I'm just having a little fun laughing at how butt hurt and ridiculous you mcu fellas are. You will still be able to pat yourself on the back for going to see Black Panther.
