I am planning to watch it. Is it good, average or bad? What are your thoughts on the movie?

It's pretty good. I thought it did a good job of keeping you guessing as to what was going on.

Excellent...a great deconstruction and re-imagining of the Horror genre with a hefty dose of real comedy.

I also like the shout out to all the classic horror movies towards the end.

the characters were a bit annoying and hard to root for (esp the stoner guy) but overall its a decent enough horror film that gets bat shit crazy in the 3rd act . solid 6/10

A very entertaining film, though it does go over the top in its final act. Has the typical (and effective) Whedon humor.

It's much better if you grok the subtext or "meta narrative" but even if you just take it on a surface level, it's still pretty good.
Whedon called it a "loving-hate letter to the horror genre" or something to that effect and that's absolutely what it is, both indulging in and criticizing the cliches of that genre.
A solid 8 for me.

I haven't seen it since it came out, but I remember thinking it was a fun horror comedy with a nice cameo at the end.

I concur with the majority of posts, it was a fun horror/comedy that managed to do both pretty well, which is no easy task.

Sam Raimi is only good when it's Bruce Campbell Evil Dead related.

I can't quite pinpoint why I didn't like it very much, but it felt clunky.
