Well, technically it was February 20th, but whatever.
Do you miss the old boards at all? Do you still use IMDb?
I think these forums have been a fine substitute, and the community on the sports board has certainly grown, but I mainly miss the traffic on the old sports board. There were simply more posters and more colorful characters there. Many of the better posters never made the transition here or else post much less frequently nowadays. Marco's lists were a staple of the old board and now seem to be gone for good, whether or not it even was the real deal posting here.
Still, I enjoy the system here with notifications and likes. I remember on the old boards, the most you could do is switch on email notifications in the event that someone replied to you. The problem was that lots of people were very dumb and simply clicked "reply" on whatever the last post in the thread was, whether or not they meant to reply to you. This meant you'd get the notification and check the thread for no reason.
I visit IMDb now only for information on the cast of a movie I happen to be watching, or to give ratings. Everything that they offer, otherwise, can be found at better sites.
What say you?

I only use imdb now to find out the name of an actor/actress and/or to find out what else they've been in. Apparently it's been getting worse. Now user reviews have been getting shafted; if they're "too negative" they get removed. You can also no longer sort reviews by rating, they're all just in some random order. And wasn't there supposed to be some replacement/alternative to the boards that was supposed to be "ground breaking" or some BS like that? Yeah, wanna take a guess as to whether or not that's happened?

To the OP- yes I do miss the IMDB boards. Especially the individual boards for actors/performers/writers/directors etc. The sports board had many more posters. I still don't know exactly why they were taken down. I think only Jeff Bezos, Col Needham and a handful of other people know what happened.

I no longer use IMDB expect to look up actors and what they’ve been in.
The thing I miss the most about the old boards is that there were more posters, although I’m glad the vast majority of the best sports board posters are here now. But I do miss the increased traffic.
I do love the notifications and like features here, I feel the style and format is superior to the old boards.
Still have no idea why they shut down the old IMDB boards, I feel like it was to censor stuff that they felt was overly controversial, it was a big mistake, not many people go there anymore.

Rarely visit imdb now. Like most people just when curious about some film related trivia.
Sports board is fine yer. Horror film board here is not so active as old one, but good enough.
Overall, v2 is more user friendly.
Happy enough.

Hardly ever visit any more. I did discover a feature a few months ago that showed all the episodes in a series by their ranking, but they've fucked around with that now to the point where it's useless.

I miss the individual movie, tv series etc boards. But now when I want to find out something like before, I google it and get the answer elsewhere IMDb2's great what it does, must delve deeper into the boards on here though, still barely scratched the surface

I only go to IMDb every now and then and only for some specific movie, or actor, info.

Like others here are saying, I barely visit IMDb, now. I actually prefer what we have here. Even the point most people here miss, that is, more traffic, I generally don't (exception as noted below). More traffic means that things over there were more hectic, and often you could barely insert a comment and soon enough that thread was falling down to the back pages, with too much garbage and too many trolls occupying the front page.
What I'm saying might be self-serving, but I also like better the fact that here we have human moderation instead of bots like the old IMDb had. I think our standards are higher and while even with the smaller traffic, moderation here can't read everything and needs to rely on the neighborhood watch system (reports), we don't have as many trolls ruining the experience for everybody else. So, sure, there are good posters who never transitioned here, but I don't miss the many trolls who either didn't come here or got kicked out from here.
For specific boards like Sports and Politics, I think ours are better than the predecessors. It is true, though, that for specific movies and TV series, low traffic is a problem. If there is a specific show airing a chapter and one wants to read what people are saying about it then and there, IMDb was better than IMDBv2.
But all things considered, the good outweighs the bad and I'm more satisfied with the current format.

I use IMDb to check user ratings on a film coming up on TV I'm not sure whether to watch or not. Also to check the name (or other movies) of an actor in a movie I've seen.
I miss the boards they had for each movie. They're idiots for getting rid of those boards.

IMDB used to be my most visited site. I loved it there. You could get ratings for anything and go to TV show boards whenever a new episode was on or something. I loved it. Now I never visit the site as it is pretty much worthless. I hope they are going under or at least not doing well, honestly. I thought getting rid of the message boards was a dumb decision and I wanted them to pay for it with their wallets. I hope they have, but this has become a pretty decent substitute.

I miss the 'nest' function so any thread could handle multiple branching 'conversations'. Can't be too difficult to introduce it here, surely?
Otherwise fuck IMDb. Used to visit the site multiple times every day, now about once a month (if that).

I miss the message boards for individual films. I still feel like I'm having fun conversations here, though.

As many have said, I don't often visit IMDB now. The only time I use it is to check who is in a movie and what other stuff they've been in. I don't rate movies any more or write any reviews there.

I enjoy these boards, but I still visit IMDB on a daily basis for movie news and to just meander around.

I never used imdb for checking on movies (used Wikipedia) so I haven been back at all.
I'm curious to know what their visitor numbers have been like ever since they ended the forum.

Fuck IMDB and their sensitive attitudes. IMDB v2.0 is where it's at.

I miss the boards they had for each movie. They're idiots for getting rid of those boards. I agree, that was criminal. The contents are however mostly still available at this site: moviechat.org/It also has boards for new movies, although there is far less traffic than on IMDb. Except for the big blockbuster movies, there isn't a whole lot of activity. Still better than nothing.

But all things considered, the good outweighs the bad and I'm more satisfied with the current format. Pros I don't go to the Politics board, but I agree the Sports board here is generally better than the old IMDb board. And there's less censorship on IMDb2 than on IMDb. For example, I often post on the MCU and DCEU boards here on IMDb2. Both of those boards have a couple of moderators. The moderators will remove comments and posts that are offensive(e.g. racist comments) or are personal insults against other users, but as long as you don't make offensive comments or personal insults against other users, the moderators won't censor your posts just because some fanboy doesn't like that you criticized their favorite movie. Not so on the old IMDb boards. When you wrote something critical of a movie and some fanboy didn't like it, they reported you and your post got deleted. So the moderation here on IMDb2 is much better.
Cons I used to go to boards on the old IMDb for some of my favorite TV shows, but now there aren't individual boards on IMDb2 for most individual TV shows and there's a lot less traffic (and thus less discussion) on some individual TV shows.

I remember seeing a notification about that on IMDB about a month ago.
Yes, that's what I miss most about the old IMDb boards - the individual boards for movies, TV shows, actors, actresses, etc.
