Does the women's game generate the same kinds of crowds, money, sponsorship etc? Well of course they do! Certainly no one would expect equal pay if the conditions of work weren't equal. Haven't you heard about the long string of sell-outs across the nation and the yuge television contracts the WNBA signed?

this could possibly go down as one of the most epic posts in the short history of IMDB2.... wasn't it long ago the U.S. women's soccer team was in arms - because they weren't receiving the same pay as the men? race? religion? democrat or republican? sexual preference? Alien vs. Predator or Freddy vs. Jason? i'll pass on those - the equal pay disputes of Men Vs. Women have always been a blast to me let the games begin!!!!

Kind of a red herring all the way around (and ESPN just doubled the amount it pays for WNBA broadcasts, for whatever that's worth). They're not asking for equal salaries. They're asking for pay that is consistent with that of their male counterparts. Of course the WNBA revenues are lower across the board, literally nobody is suggesting otherwise and, in turn, nobody is saying that the best player in the WNBA should make the same salary as that of Lebron, or whoever is the top paid guy in the NBA right now. However, the NBA pays its players about 50% of its revenues, whereas the WNBA pays its players about 25% of its revenues. Therein lies the issue.

I'm not a proponent of the WNBA, frankly I find the NBA (and the WNBA) to be impossibly boring to watch, but after a rough 2015, their attendance is up, merch sales are up year over year and their broadcast revenues are up as well (all according to Forbes - I didn't do a deep dive on the numbers though). The NBA has been around for, what, 70 years? In 70 years time, there's no reason why the WNBA can't be a stalwart in sports entertainment. The dismissal of the WNBA by NBA fans is something I always marvel at because it seems to be based on things that transcend anything tangible. It's as if the WNBA gaining popularity of any kind will somehow diminish the person's enjoyment of the NBA itself. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. I leave on Friday morning, cannot fucking wait!! Are you a camera guy? I'm not, and I have a camera but nothing fancy. It works underwater but I'm wondering if I need to borrow someone's GoPro for the shark stuff.

Compared to the men's game, the women perform like shit. That's just a fact. They are slow, weak, unathletic and short compared to the men. That is 100% the reason why no one who actually watches both sports gives any serious thought to WNBA players getting paid like the men. Oh! I thought you had already come and gone. Well bon voyage and I hope you keep all your appendages safe!

I am a huge NBA fan. I watch it every night. The quality between the NBA and WNBA is night and day. There is plenty of reason to think the WNBA will not be as successful as the NBA in 70 years. The main reason would be that women suck at basketball. Yes, I know this sounds really sexist, but I have been playing basketball my entire life and I am a basketball nut. It is the sad truth. It is not like women's soccer, which I actually enjoy, where the men and women can pretty much do the same things. The women are no where near as good at anything basketball. They cannot dunk, for the most part, they can barely shoot, and they can barely dribble. Their game is sloppy and frankly boring. It is like watching a Men's high school basketball game.

I will put it like this. My cousin is in the top 10 ESPN prospects coming out of High School. You will see her on TV as she has a full ride to UCONN. She destroys every girl she plays in basketball. She is 6'3" and can shoot lights out. I can DESTROY her when we play one on one. I am decent, but never good enough to play division 1 BBall, better yet the NBA. This is not a brag post, simply the truth. If my cousin were a man with her same accolades, he would beat me pretty handedly most likely.

I haven't played basketball in years so I have no real basis to doubt what you said. But I'm really good at tennis, at least for someone who never played in college or anything like that. My serve is my real one weakness, but I can get just to about anything, have a tremendous forehand, and can place my backhand anywhere with great spin in both directions. I play against my wife's friend who played at a D-1 school and she runs my ass all over the court and I'm fortunate to win a single game against her. Two totally different sports and totally different skill set.

This episode of Twin Peaks represented one of the finest (and craziest) hours of television in 2017, a year that had some brilliant TV. There's no turning back now.

Twin Peaks to me is the greatest show of All-Time. own it. and as much as Twin Peaks: Fire Walks With Me gets crapped on - it's a masterpiece IMO - great soundtracks too - haunting beyond belief. fun times. have still yet to sit down and give last years 'comeback' a full watch and have just seen bits and pieces. i just knew this thread had the chance of being the most epic of all-time. we've got women vs. men monetary wars as the initial post, nba stars dunking in strangers backyards, a clip involved of Batman, and now Twin Peaks - we're all over the map here

Lewes FC pay their mens and women's teams equally, as do Norway.
