He looked much better in the post-credits scene from Avengers or whatever movie he was in for five seconds. Maybe it's just the lighting or the effects aren't totally polished or whatever, but he looks like he belongs somewhere between seasons two and five of Buffy. In a one-off "monster of the week" episode.
Innit?

They'll probably touch up the CGI for the final version, that always happens now.
I remember people had problems with Jurassic World's CGI but there was a notable difference between the trailer and the film itself.

You guys didn't think Thanos could've looked somewhat cooler/better? Also good points scabab, and I definitely concede it's possible they touch him up. But, yeah. Not crazy about him.

I thought he looked fantastic in his appearance during the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Also he looks too damn human. Why can't aliens ever look like actual fucking aliens! (And yes, I do know what actual aliens look like )

I think he should look more like the bad guy alien in Galaxy Quest.
I think he looks like a cartoon and felt that way since Guardians of the Galaxy.

Isn't he like, a regular dude, in the comics? I like the Thanos design better but, I will admit that the coloring is way off. That can be easily corrected before release. Texture mapping is on point, yo.

Unfortunately that's probably true. Disney's got to sell those Thanos action figures!

Can someone explain why he had to be CGI when he literally just looks like a human in purple face paint?

Can someone explain why he had to be CGI when he literally just looks like a human in purple face paint? Maybe he was just too big in size or something for an actor to play him, like the Hulk or Abomination.

Think about it this way. If you save the models, pixels can be doubled one day - maybe in a special edition. Bad makeup? That’s forever.

As a Star Wars fan the words Special Edition are blasphemy. I'm a strong believer that movies should NEVER be altered after release. Also, good FX never age. See King Kong '33 or Space Oddessy Also, why do you assume the makeup would be bad? Drax isn't CG is he? Tell me: if Drax had been CGI would you be making this same defense of that?
