How were they used the same? That kid did nothing for Tony's character development. He didn't factor into his character arc at all! C'mon man, this is such a silly comparison. I feel like I'm arguing with ArArArArArch Shamton here. Harley got him to get over his PTSD with their interactions. Tony saw someone like him when he was younger. The same way that Logan saw a wild child version of how he use to be. Both men saw how wrong they were currently and changed because of the little "angel" on their shoulder. The only difference is that Laura was there the entire movie. The problem is that you don't want to see the comparison. I'm not saying that one is better than the other. I'm just saying you are wrong in your reason to hate on something. How is the kid like Tony? That was not what was intended. Tony's dad never left him. Tony was never poor. He was never bullied either that we know of. It simply does not factor into his arc in any way shape or form. He was there to provide cutesy interactions while Tony was sleuthing in Tennessee. That's all.

Well, OK. They provide sufficient reason for them to bond, but I still maintain that the kid is utterly extraneous to the overall story. But more importanly, his scenes are way too cutesy and Disneyish for an Iron Man movie.

The integral relationship between Logan and Laura is shown in its most visceral, rawest form. Just watching that 1 minute clip and you know what the entire film is about That Stark Harley scene is exactly how you put it; cutesy Disney crap that fails to push any limits, staying well inside the safe zone.

Once Disney bought Marvel it became what appeals to the masses first, before it what would make a good movie, corporate fuckery

Push any limits? It tells you the type of person Stark is. He's the type of guy that will not get any kind of connection like that. Logan is the type that will get worn down by any female with persistence. Especially one that is his "daughter." But then you have the scene where the kid helps Stark while he's having another anxiety attack. I think you guys just have a vision of what the MCU is and stick with it no matter what.

Actually, Shane Black is known for adding comedic elements in his films... Didn't he write such movies as Lethal Weapon, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Nice Guys... The guy does comedy. I'm sure The Predator will have a healthy dose of comedy, also.

You forgot to put in...
FORMULA! FORMULA! FORMULA!
I'm not necessarily saying that's a bad thing either. After all, the formula works. But it has been showing more and more.

Someday DC will get the secret formula!!

The formula is "Make comic book movies. Not movies adapted from comics."

So here's what our fellow Marvel and DC sluts have to say regarding the poll:
26 have pretty much come out in favor of the first 10 years.
3 think that it's alright.
1 says that DC needs to get good.
1 is completely loyal to DC.
3 Are members of the church of Nolan and believe that Chris Nolan is a film GOD and savior of comic book movies AND the comic book genre. They say that the Dark Knight trilogy is a masterpiece and neither Marvel Studios, Sony, Fox and DC have come close to it's glory. They also acknowledged that Nolan is Senpai. Everything is true and anyone who says otherwise is a heretic.
3 want to give me penises, which is very thoughtful of them.
Surprisingly no one voted for Kat Dennings or Fox X-Men.
