Thank god the MCU happened. Everything is better now for comic book fans. The idea that we would ever have this many CB movies used to be a fantasy. There were 6 of them last year. How about that? Even Fox managed to make a good one so Marvel is forcing everyone to up their game.
I know some hate JL but I thought it was 50% great with some weak stuff in the other 50%.
Marvel is historic here. I doubt there is another studio that ever managed to release 18 movies in a row that critics and audiences liked. Even Pixar couldn't do it. Now everyone in Hollywood is trying to figure out how to do a shared universe of their own.
And somehow....they seem to be getting better. I suspect getting rid of Ike Perlmutter was behind this. They were doing great before...but since Ike left they've done this:
Captain America: Civil War (2016) Doctor Strange (2016) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) Thor: Ragnarok (2017) Black Panther (2018)
Average RT score: 90.83 Average Domestic Box office: 380m Average WW Box office: 935m

No other film franchise can compare to what the MCU has done. Even their worst films are decently enjoyable and decently successful.

As the year is a week away from closing, I figured I'd bump this to revive the discussion.
With the release of the recent films, what's your opinion on this past 10 years?
It's no doubt how impressive their success have been this past decade.

It’s quite an experience. Up until now there’s not been a terrible MCU movie.

How long before another producer is as successful as Feige? Will it happen this century?

They did a pretty good job so far. I hope they can keep that quality going in the near future.

Crazy to think back then they were only at 18 films. Now we have 6 shows as well as 9 additional films.

$25.338 billion is the current box office total as well. It's estimated that the MCU currently has gross over $27,359,269,838 at the box office. Curious to see how well Black Panther 2 does.

Over 15 years now. But will it make it to 20? It'll hang on for a while. I think the FF and especially the X-Men will breathe new life into the MCU. Will those titles attract casual fans the way the Avengers did, that's the question. Unless you're asking about the MCU as we know it. They could do a hard reboot after Secret Wars.

MCU has to get back to Earth, isn't that what it boils down to? I'm not saying 100%, but Multiverse of Madness, Love & Thunder, & Guardians 3 paved the way away from that yes?
Deadpool 3 seems to be a recalibration, & Captain America NWO has to be as well. I think maybe the stakes for heroes & villains alike became a silly bridge too far.
Also, I'm 46 now. I was not 46 in 2008.

16 years now. The MCU is older than I was when it started.
