i agree it was low maintenance to create a board a decade

I also agree.
It wouldn't be hard or time consuming to create (or keep?) approx. 10 sub-boards to help sort things.

i agree it was low maintenance to create a board a decade I'm not even sure what that means in response to what I said. But why would anyone want to come to this board if it's just going to be nothing but current shows? What made IMDB so special was the incredible variety. Multiple generations were able to reach out, comment, celebrate, discover, embrace, promote and inspire -- all in text! Branches existed and weren't hacked off! Throwing everything into one pot is just asking for favoritism to rule threads, and that's not a good thing. i would make a post in suggestion boards, in case Admin don't see or i will tag just in case

FWIW I hate the change. It makes no sense to group The Twilight Zone w/ The Sopranos.
There must have been some other way to consolidate. Say a "Retro TV" board for pre-1990 shows. (I would prefer pre-1980 but I'm trying to compromise)

I think I missed the point, then. Starting a Sopranos thread in Classic TV makes The Sopranos Classic TV? Or are you saying that it should belong in TV General instead? Popular Series and Fan Favorites, maybe? If you hate this consolidation, you're going to absolutely loathe what I have in mind for the Genre Zone. lol

I'm not sure what constitutes "classic tv". Keeping it by decade kept it organized and I didn't see any real "dead" decades where nobody was posting in say the 60s forum. One forum might as well be called "general tv discussion" since I think classic tv is misleading as a header.

I would say it's its own genre and not necessarily determined by age; similar to music (eg. classic rock, oldies, etc).

I agree. I don't see how anyone can think going from organized to disorganized is better. But, oh well....

Agreed, it was much more organized that way.

Agreed, it was much more organized that way. Consolidation is not disorganization.

Grats, Admin! For not letting your personal bias get in the way of a forum that deals with much bias and many personalities! Now I'm biased against Classic TV decade sub-boards?
