And again, DC-Fan was wrong. Sam, you're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view. Posting here is the search for facts, not truth. If it's truth you're looking for, Dr. Tyree's philosophy forum is right down the hall.

In the 70's when Wonder Woman became depowered DC had her resign from the Justice League and go on James Bond style missions, and a strong source of inspiration to those stories and how the character when about handling dangerous situations was Emma Peel from The Avengers. Link - www.paradoxcomicsgroup.com/2009/08/four-colour-yesteryears-wonder-woman.htmlI mean, you're a DC-Fan, shouldn't you know this? That's non-canon, just like the Red Son Superman and the Gotham By Gaslight Batman and Justice League: Gods and Monsters are all non-canon. The true Superman is the one whose rocket landed in Kansas and was found by Jonathon and Martha Kent, not the one whose rocket landed in the Soviet Union and was found by Joseph Stalin. And the true Wonder Woman is the one who was created by Professor Marston and wears the red, blue, and gold costume and uses a lasso. By contrast, the Black Widow that wears a black leather outfit and uses a gun is canon and is a rip-off of Emma Peel. Who the fuck cares??? Everyone still loves the character and Marvel continues to succeed

It doesn't matter if it was canon or not to the larger DC universe at the time, they were inspired by Emma Peel with that run of the comics. The similarities between Black Widow and Emma Peel begin and end visually, their backstories, personalities, and how they approach situations are radically different though. Emma Peel was born into a wealthy family who gave her all the education and sporting training she could have asked for, Black Widow was taken as a child and forced into an organization that made her into a killing machine who would serve in the soviet's attempts to conquer the U.S. Emma Peel is English, Black Widow is Russian. Emma Peel is an expert in fencing, Black Widow uses batons. Emma Peel does things in a more cleaner fashion, Black Widow is much more dirty in hand-to-hand combat. I can go on. Son Goku from Dragonball and Superman have more in common with each other than Emma Peel and Black Widow.

Just like Jean-Paul Valley being Batman is canon after Bruce got his back broken. (Not like the Red Son Batman)
