This is just my personal preference. But I don't like these dark superheros with deep, heavy personal problems. If we are going fantasy (serial killer who only kills bad guys) might as well go all out right? I mean it is just fantasy.
SPOILERS; I would have preferred Debra never died, and Dexter got away to Argentina to meet up with Hannah and Harrison to live happily ever after. Except Dexter kept killing bad guys.
Do you think that would have been better?

Nope, theshow had more issues. I don't understand you guys' attraction to problems, pain, suffering and tragedy. Are you sadomasochistic?

You seem to have the same problem as the writers of the late seasons- assuming Dexter Morgan was a good man.

Dexter is my favorite show of all time. I think regardless of what may have happened with the finale or the final couple of seasons the show is still great. I would actually really love it if they revived the series. I feel like they left the season 8 finale open ended, so it could return one day. I hope that day is soon.

She was the antithesis of what Dexter was and it made no sense that he wanted to be with her. That is one of the biggest reasons the show dipped in quality.

She was the antithesis of what Dexter was and it made no sense that he wanted to be with her. That is one of the biggest reasons the show dipped in quality. My understanding from the show was Hannah only killed bad guys who were victimizing her. With the exception of going after Debra. And obviously Hannah was good for Dexter and Harrison. She claimed she never liked killing anybody. She just had to do what she did to survive. Debra was simple-minded. She saw everything as black and white. She could not see reality as shades of grey. In other words, she was stupid. She couldn't accept her brother as a serial killer. Even though he only went after bad guys who often had slipped through the cracks and gotten away with murder. Even though he was an otherwise good brother, good employee, good friend, good husband, good father, etc. And she couldn't accept Hannah even though she loved her brother, he loved her, they made each other happy, and Hannah wanted to like her. This is why I never liked Debra. She was a stupid, over-emotional, hysterical, promiscuous, foul-mouthed lunatic who made everything worse she got involved in for herself and everybody else. Hannah tried to kill Debra because Debra was trying to convict Hannah of murder. Debra was a threat. But after Hannah escaped from prison, she and Debra got along. And Hannah never tried to hurt her again.

I thought Michael Hall did a great job portraying a serial killer. But I generally do not like dark tragedies. I would have preferred my happy ending.

What is appropriate for kids? What should be presented to them?? And this is very disturbing.Just surrounding her with death ,this is very consistent. Its sad because these things shouldnt exist. What are you talking about?

You seem to have the same problem as the writers of the late seasons- assuming Dexter Morgan was a good man. Or that Hannah was a good/interesting character. We can spot a writer's pet a mile away. Even Edward James Olmos' Sixth Sense gag wasn't as eye rolling as everyone on the show talking about how perfect Dexter and Hannah were together.

She wasn't. A Mary Sue with no chemistry with Dexter. There was nothing special about her other than the writers thought she was special.

A beautiful actress can't save a bland character. The show tried too hard to convince fans how wonderful she and Dexter were together. It was contrived and overtly obvious. She brought nothing to the game.

I've always thought that the final season should've been about Debra bringing Dexter down and should've ended with his secret exposed for everyone else to see.
And I liked Hannah McKay and Dexter together but bringing her in the final season for nothing more than rekindle her relationship with Dexter and bury the entire thing between her and Debra was silly as fuck.
Anyway the final season was horrible, even before the ending IMO.

I've always thought that the final season should've been about Debra bringing Dexter down and should've ended with his secret exposed for everyone else to see. My first choice would have been for Dexter to escape to Argentina, meet up with Hannah and Harrison, live happily ever after, and keep killing bad guys. But your suggestion would have been a lot better than what they actually did on the show. They took the easy way out and mailed it in. Their ending was so cliche an unimaginative.

Ideally I would have like to see Dexter get caught and sentenced to death, but I also wouldn't have minded him escaping with Hannah. Either way, I wanted his colleagues to find out who he really was. To be honest, I think they chose the absolute worst option to end the show.
