I wouldn't say it was the worst, I'd give that to Incredible Hulk but it is one of the weaker ones and I'd definitely say it was the most disappointing one. I still mostly liked it though. I'd say it was disappointing for some over it being a bad movie. People use the Mandarin as the reason the movie is bad.

Oh. I liked it, thought it was far more inventive than the majority of the Marvel flicks, and I didn’t see the twist coming.

Sarcasm is a foreign concept to you. sarcasm or not I would rather watch a superhero that features Kat instead of borning RDJ Oh yes, because she "da haaaaaaaawwwwwwtnessssss". If she were the lead of one you wouldn't give a damn about story, character, or acting( things that actually matter when critiquing film), if she were in some skimpy outfit you'd give it a perfect 10 out of 10. Thank goodness you do not work in the industry, superhero movies would plummet thanks to your ideas.

I seconded the opinion that Thor: The Dark World is the worst of the MCU. I could never get invested in the story and Malekith was a bland villain.

No, Iron Man II was worse

I actually like it. Sure the Mandarin twist was ridiculous, but I liked the humanization of Stark in this one and how dark it was. Wish they would explain why the hell he gave up being IM in here but then came back in AOU and after.
Oh and BTW, Iron Man 2 is my least favourite MCU movie.

I'll respectfully disagree. It's actually one of my favorite in the MCU: 1) Tony Suffers from PTSD, which gives our main character a degree of vulnerability not commonly seen in superhero movies 2) Tony resolves the action scenes using his wits instead relying on overpowering the enemy and each action scene is very different from the others 3) The concept of the real hero being the man and not the suit is really different and interesting. The characterization drives the storytelling. As far as the article's 10 reasons: 1) I thought they were pretty consistent with Pepper. She's not completely helpless, but she's not a superhero. Just because they don't go to either extreme doesn't mean they can't "make up their mind" 2) The panic attacks worked for the character. Who cares that they're not exactly 100% how they actually happen? 3) The movie's a semi-sequel to the Avengers. Of course they'll be mentioned! It's also the core element of driving the PTSD subplot. They're off doing their own thing. Bringing them in would take focus away from tony 4) The kid being there was undoubtedly the result of Disney's meddling (I'll admit that), but Tony is still his usual smart-ass self to him. They didn't get overly sentimental and he's not in much of the movie 5) As far as I'm concerned, Killian is the real Mandarin. So, basically, they changed him from having magic rings to having fire-healing powers. Didn't really care either way 6) Yeah, the real villain is weak, but he's no worse than a majority of the MCU villains 7) Who cares if the Vice President is in on it? How does THAT affect the quality of the movie? 8) I totally get the criticism about Tony controlling Iron Man remotely, BUT he's still constantly put in situations where he's a part of the action and, often without his suit, so I don't think it's valid 9) They explain in the movie that the 40 suits were trapped under the debris of his house. Not a plothole. 10) Didn't care about the after credits scene? How does that affect the quality of the movie?

I never understood all the hate for this one, especially considering the second one was such an abomination it nearly killed the MCU, it's unwatchable unlike IM3. I mean has IM 3 even a hidden raccoon turd in it? Ok, googled: it has! But a comparativly small one.
I wouldn't go in there for 20 minutes, hahaahah! But: Hahahahaha, other MCU films are even more famous for their huge turds.

But monkeys are not apes. So, pray tell me, where is the famous turd buried in War for the Planet of the Apes?

If anything, it cemented the brand. After all, The Incredible Hulk only made $200 million. That'd be the movie most would say might've killed the MCU, but that's not even true either.

I wish it had, but not everything is about money:

The film industry is about money. And the movies that followed IM2, and even Ironman 3, were all financial successes. I can understand people thinking it was a stumble for the MCU, but IM2 wasn't even close to ruining the MCU brand. Marvel Studios did not wavier in their plans whatsoever. As the Transformers franchise has proven, negative criticism will do nothing to ruin a franchise as long as it's financially viable.

When the apes need a distraction, one throws a turd at the guard on duty and he stupidly leaves his post to find out who did it (and even dumber was there only being one guard).
The WHOLE PLOT of the film hinged on that.

lol, I completely missed that! I urgently advise WB to have the characters extensively debate the squishiness and size of Ape turds so that it becomes as memorable and funny as MCU dialogue.
There is a reason why movies like War, Blade Runner or Annihilation underperformed.
Btw bet when you watched the scene you went like "NO, NO, NO! Now they are stealing Marvel material again!!!" and went total ape shit in the theater, must have been hillarious.

No, I just thought "Huh, all these years and NOW they choose to do a Monkey poo thing. Go figure."
The "It" remake also had characters talk about turds, the critically acclaimed film.

For me it's Thor The Dark World.
Iron Man 3 suffered because Marvel Studios pussy out with the Mandarin.

IM3 is the worst MCU movie IMO but it is still a great movie which tells you all you need to know about the MCU.
BTW why is that one guy positively obsessed with 2 turd jokes out of 18 movies. I guess that is the only complaint left to hang his hat on after everything else he complains about has been proven completely false.
