Cold, cold bones by Kathy Reichs. Also read a bodice ripper over the holidays. Have another one on reserve at the library. Reading some professional material for school.

Just started this one. Koontz is very hit or miss with me, but it seems to well-rated in various sites. I would put this one somewhere between hit and miss. It was an easy read and imaginative, but there were a bit too many coincidences and miraculous escapes for me to take it too seriously. I FINALLY finished it. (Took me way too long, too many days where I put off reading until late in the day and then I was too tired and didn't feel like reading.) This was a miss for me. Too many coincidences. Also, too many convenient developments. (We need to unlock a door? Oh, look, we suddenly developed the ability to unlock doors just by touching them!) Another problem was Koontz again letting his politics bleed into his writing. I've read about 20 of his books, but this is only the second Trump-era work of his I've read. Both of them have touched on politics a bit, and it's clear to me that Koontz will be a DeSantis voter in 2024.

Just started reading Eric Idle's (of Monty Python fame) autobiography, "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life", after someone highly recommended it to me. E-book from the library. I own John Cleese's and Terry Gilliam's memoirs but haven't read them yet.

I've read it three times, in my teens, in my twenties, and in my thirties. The first time, I hated it. Decided to give it give it another try, and the second time, I loved it. Later, I was on a re-reading kick, and it was one of the books I read again. This time, I liked it but didn't feel as positive as I did after the second time.

I'm struggling to find fiction at the moment, so have two non-fiction on the go -
John Rogers - This Other London Stuart & Philip Laycock - Unexpected Britain: A Journey Through Our Hidden History
With the latter failing to live up to it's title rather badly.

I'm rereading The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher for the umpteenth time, I love this book like an old friend and read it about every 5 years, I always find something I've missed or forgotten.

None.
The shitheads who run the US Anti Reading And Writing League have closed down Z library, so I am buggered. When the weather picks up I will poddle round to Waterstone's and have a glance at whatever they have on offer, but I don't hold out much hope.

I took this out of the library and tried to read it. Could not. I'm struggling with it too. I haven't seen the movie yet, but the plot sounded interesting enough plus the book seems to have gathered largely positive reviews, but so far I'm finding it a bit dry and the writing is just not good enough to pull me into this medieval world. I'll try to make it to the end, but it will take longer than I assumed.
