Homecoming is the worst Spidey film, michael keaton is the best part Agreed. SMH is the worst movie adaptation of Spider-Man ever. Not to legitimate fans of the character it isn't, and to general movie goers. It's certainly a better portrayal of the character than, say, Justice League's The Flash.

...and he will always be the real Peter Parker/Spider-Man to me. Sure his Spider-Man wasn't perfect, but his Spidey is most certainly miles above Andrew Garfield's and Tom Holland's. They are just wannabees to me and were far too young for the role for me. Spidey should be a MAN, not a teenager, IMO. And Spider-Man 2 (2004) is still the best superhero film ever made to date, IMO. Not really, as Peter Parker he did fine but in costume he wasn't very convincing when he delivered all of Spidey's quips and puns, lines like "you're out of your mind, gobby!" sound really forced and like he was reading from a script than feeling organic and genuine.

Why is Homecoming the worst? Oh, let me guess "becuz humor"? Because fans of the older movies hate that idea of Spidey existing in a Universe with other heroes. Why is that a problem?

The Raimi Spider-Man movies are great and Maguire was good in the role. The ASM movies are good but pale in comparison to the Raimi trilogy. Spider-Man homecoming is great but is very different because it is focusing on Spider-Man while he is still a high school student and as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Holland is doing an excellent job as Peter Parker so far.
BTW I think it is the director that matters more than the actor.

Because fans of the older movies hate that idea of Spidey existing in a Universe with other heroes. Why is that a problem? For some reason, they think that having Spider-Man co exist with ANY other heroes somehow takes away from the character and he should always be in his own world because interaction with others ruins him.
Don't ask me what their logic is.

Tobey had better materials and script to work with and was under the independent vision of Sam Raimi, he was not following a formula like Tom Holland.
Garfield has his fans but for me the problem was his peter parker was that he was so unlikeable. His Spiderman was okay.
Holland is way too much of a Disney hannah montana character.

IE, Raimi had no one to rein him in when he went too over-the-top. Bad idea. Tobey had acceptable material for 2002, but the world has moved on and Tom's getting the better stuff. No, he's just a better Teenager Spider-Man and embodies the character better. And they aren't afraid to have his Spidey break out of the status quo as opposed to Raimi.

For some reason people just seem to ignore them.

He's good, but Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man/Peter Parker.

The Raimi Spider-man trilogy had a certain kind of magic to them that the ones since have never been able to capture again.
I can't quite put my finger on it but it makes them standout more. The Amazing Spider-man movies are ultimately going to be forgettable and a disappointment. Spider-man Homecoming is a better movie but I don't think it'll be as memorable maybe because it's kinda similar to a lot of the superhero movies nowadays whereas there weren't many around back when Spider-man came out.
Spider-man 2 had the best combination of action, drama and comedy out of them all.

Andrew is the best. However I love the first two raimi films and ASM. Homecoming is the worst Spidey film, michael keaton is the best part Why is Homecoming the worst? Oh, let me guess "becuz humor"? Because: 1. SMH Spider-Man doesn't give a shit about responsibility and his only reason for being a hero is to try to impress Tony Stark 2. SMH Spider-Man doesn't use his Spider-Sense and instead uses AI suits given to him by Tony Stark, making SMH Spider-Man nothing more than War Machine 2.0

Why do MCU fans try to turn EVERY thread into a MCU vs DC argument?

These moments really set Tobey Maguire apart from the other Spidermans. ![](https://i1.wp.com/thats-normal.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/maxresdefault-1.jpg?w=1280&ssl=1)

In fact a lot of us back on imdb Spider-Man 3 board wanted to boycott the film because of it.

I like all 3, but I agree Maguire was the best. Then again, that may just be because of the nostalgia that version played on me as a kid.
