That is interesting. The movie has done extremely well in the US but ultimately will end up selling less tickets than the original Avengers and Black Panther. Surprisingly it's even going to sell less tickets than Jurassic World which I'm sure nobody thought was ever going to happen. I'm not sure if it's silly to say that that's a little disappointing? All things considered, with the ten year build up and all these characters you'd think it would have done probably better than the first Avengers but it's close enough anyway. So... Infinity War was a failure and they should reboot the mcu is what you're saying? Has any two billion dollar movie had to navigate as much major competition as Infinity War had to during its entire run? Are the Apples really apples or are there some oranges in there? Hee hee hee...

Disney was caught off guard and was slow to capitalize on it for Ininity War. The lesson here is that, according to scabs, we’re living in an era were a two billion dollar movie can be called a disappointment. The trick is, the only way to create that skewed picture is to mainly compare the film to other Marvel films. So, scabs just confirms, over and over again, that Marvel films are in a class by themselves.

How has it sold less tickets than BP when they have both been released in the same year? So it's basically the Justice League of 2018? Basically, Infinity War bombed domestically and in future, Feige needs to make a separate version of ALL MCU movies specifically for North American audiences. ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/m8f14k0ih/yes.gif)
ie. Using Captain America (the North American version) as an example, he would have been played by Michael B Jordan, the movie would have been directed by Wanda Sykes, the Red Skull would have been played by a real burns victim (which is actually racist against burns victims but who cares?! #RealLifeHeroes), Bucky would have been played by R Kelly and the plot would have surrounded Red Skull's attempt to murder Alice Paul.
Ka-ching!!!! ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/m8f14k0ih/yes.gif)

No just domestically, according to BOM. Black Panther sold 76.35 million tickets. Infinity War has sold 71.47 million tickets.
Also The Avengers sold 76.88 million tickets.
Anyway it's now at $1.998 billion. It's also not far off passing Justice League's worldwide gross in just US as well.

It passed the $2 billion mark. Only the fourth film in history to do so.

It passed the $2 billion mark. Only the fourth film in history to do so. Bahhhh! That's insignificant. The movie's box office (which is still running) is a disappointment because it cannot pass Black Panther domestic BO or couldn't sell more tickets than The Avengers or Jurassic World in the domestic market. Didn't you get the memo? I am pretty sure Marvel/Disney will prefer to throw the 500 millions IW has over Avengers for a few thousand more tickets in USA. They can forget or give away the 650 millions IW has over BP just to obtain the 40 millions it needs to pass that movie domestically. I am pretty sure the quantity of tickets that Jurassic World supposedly sold over IW will make for the 330 millions difference between the two on WW box office.
What a disappointment. Ha, ha, ha...

I'm sure the comparable shortfall domestic $43m compared to BP, is more than made up by the $699.5m more it made overseas. No matter how you look at it or split the profits for domestic and overseas, it grossed more overall You seriously think they would trade $500m for a few thousand more ticket sales in the US? Hilarious.

Exactly, it might have fallen short by a few million tickets or so in the US but they've easily more than made up for it overseas. Particularly China.
The Worldwide gross will always be the most important and Infinity War has far outgross Black Panther.

My bad! I will try harder next time.
