They have those first aid things that can quickly heal serious (not fatal) wounds quickly. It didn't work on Rocket because his artificial parts were rigged with a failsafe to self destruct if anyone tampered with them including medical assistance. Getting the codes to disable that failsafe is the whole plot of the movie.
