True. I'm trying to come up with other connected names. Teammates (Mantle-Maris, Koufax-Drysdale) or famous home runs (Thomson-Branca, Gibson-Eckersley). Maybe Branch Rickey-Jackie Robinson.
While not teammates or a home run I will always connect Pedro Martinez to Don Zimmer. While its a shame to one of the best pitchers of his generation ill never get that image of that old fat man trying to charge at him like an idiot and the bewildered look on his face after he got thrown to the ground. Forgot McGwire-Sosa

Best record in baseball? The Cleveland Indians. Year One, Post Tito and without Bieber. HOF for Tito... I know he'd punch us in the face, but just put in on a ballot early while he can drive to Cooperstown no prob.

www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/40046470/mlb-modify-uniforms-player-complaints-per-memoMLB to address uniforms after player complaints, per memo - Major League Baseball plans to address its uniform fiasco after changes this spring to the standard jerseys and pants led to widespread complaints from players and fans, according to a memo obtained Sunday night by ESPN. The prominent modifications include a return to larger lettering on the back of jerseys, remedying mismatched gray tops and bottoms and addressing the new Nike jerseys' propensity to collect sweat, according to the memo distributed to players by the MLB Players Association on Sunday. The changes, which will happen at the latest by the beginning of the 2025 season, will also include fixes to the pants, widely panned this spring for being see-through. The union informed players of the coming changes in a letter that placed the blame on Nike and the debut of its Vapor Premier uniform, which was advertised for its superior performance but remains disliked by players. "This has been entirely a Nike issue," the memo to players read. "At its core, what has happened here is that Nike was innovating something that didn't need to be innovated."

Mike Trout has suffered his annual injury. Torn meniscus with no timetable for return, but not expected to be season ending.

This is absolutely brutal. If I'm an Angels fan right now, I'd start to question the majority of my life choices.

I noticed the latest pics of Trout and he has that neckless body, ala Bonds and Sosa. And he's brittle, like McGwire. Lance Armstrong Bamboozled the cycling world, the people who wrote the book on catching juicers. Could Mike Trout fudge the tests?

Well, except for the flashbacks from the prior 2 games that prove that Jo Adell has no idea how to play right field. It's one thing to lose, it's another thing to look like that in so doing.

He has always shown flashes, and he's off to a strong start at the plate (.903 OPS), he's just completely lost out in the field. Yeah, guys get better as they continue to play, but he's 25 and the plays he's fucking up are the kind of thing you learn in rookie ball.

Padres acquire 2 time batting champ from the free falling Marlins.
When was the last time an All Star was traded in May? Mike Piazza is the last one I recall when he was traded twice back in 1998. First to these same Marlins, then a few weeks later to the Mets for Preston Wilson. Sure I’m forgetting someone since then.

Those two Piazza trades were both in May too, just 8 days apart (14th and 22nd). I can't think of any big Nay rades off the top of my head, or via Google. Am interested in what others can pull out of memory. As for Arráez, is he Soto 2.0 for San Diego, to be flipped in the winter of 2025/6?

Shea Hillenbrand was traded for Byung-Hyun Kim in 2003 - - both had been All Stars in 2002. Not one that immediately jumps to mind (when I hear "Shea Hillenbrand", I don't think "All-Star"). Giants traded Willie Mays to the Mets in May too . . . but he was batting .184 at the time.
