It's even a common trope. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ItsPopularNowItSucks Its one thing to dislike a few of the films or maybe dislike one of the character's main film, or dislike a recurring aspect of the films, but when you lump them all together and hate them for being the "same" even though that's not true, you're just trying to be trendy because it's apparently cool to do so. And there are a few obvious users on here (won't specify who, they know) who are like that. And they also like to attack other people's taste in these films if they really like them. It may not be a direct insult and really subtle, but it's pretty blatant when they're attacking simply for liking these films because they're so popular right now. Alright, shitstorm, here we come...

In a way it is true. The geek culture is suppose to be for geeks, but once it gets out side of that and becomes popular culture, it's bad. People site the tone for what is wrong with the MCU saying that it's too kiddy and comedic. But the tone has been consistent since Iron Man. The movie people say is one of the best of the MCU. I mean, it is bad when your only reason for liking something is because of how much you hate something else. Who do you like this non-MCU thing? "Because the MCU is such and such." Hmph...

Couldn't you say that about anything?
It feels like a cop out.

"Most" though? There's two people who I'm sure DC pays in quarters to hate on MCU full time perhaps.

Maybe, but the films aren't really hateable, they're just nothing special.

I don’t think this board has too many of those. This board mainly has people who hate the MCU because they’re butthurt about the fact that it’s more successful than the DCEU and/or the X-Men franchise.

I've noticed a lot of people here and on youtube like to deliberately misunderstand parts of Marvel movies so they can get away with calling things a plot hole. Like how many retards out there still think Ronan was beaten by a dance off.

ewww, that scene that will live on in infamy. It was indeed worse! He was distracted by a dance off and then defeated by a magic stone - " We are the GotG., BITCH!" lol So inspiring...wish my parents had put me in the pot, we are all a little bit Groot, Hoby. ^^^ See? Retards! indeed, but don't be so hard on them, Hobe. These are films for manchildren, and manchildren get the movies they deserve. It's not like Age of Ulltron was that much smarter. If you want to make an omelet, then you have to break some rotten eggs!

Or you know they may just not like them. And you know what that is ok.
Personally i like Marvel movies i mean i would not put them among the greatest films ever made or anything. But they are good entertainment.

so if we are jealous
Why do we support more independent non disneyfied comic movies? why do we favour when comic films were more like X2, Spiderman 2, sic city, TDK than the oversaturated forumla stuff we have now
funny thing about popularity, we saw how bullshit the term actually is when the oscars created some bizzare category for it even disney mcu are now trying to place a distance from it when they are the cause. the irony.
we are not jealous, if anything we feel anger as the genre is now in the gutter again thanks to mcu movies.

You need justification for your jealousy so you concoct an imaginary golden age of superhero movies, pre MCU. X2. Don’t blame the MCU for the collapse of the X-Men series, blame X3. Spiderman 2. Not much different than the current MCU “formula”. Again, a good series wrecked by the third installment. Sin City. A twisted aberration that the filmmakers could not duplicate. TDK. A “realistic” take on an individual superhero character that would not work in an expanded superhero universe. In each of these movies, it was the filmmakers themselves who failed to carry on the elements that you hold so dear. So instead of placing the blame where it belongs, you lash out at the reigning champ of superheroes movies for not following in the footsteps of all those who failed before them. It’s the MCU’s fault! Sob.

See that's the thing. You make negative comments like that, like it being in the gutter, that just proves my point. Because it's not in the gutter. Infinity War has made 2 billion in Box Office return. Do enlighten me how that is putting the genre in the gutter... X-Men Apocalypse and more than likely, Dark Phoenix is going to put the X-Men in the gutter. The DCEU barely caught a break with Wonder Woman but then squandered it with Justice League. You're upset and jealous that the other series you like can't get back on their feet, yet the MCU continues to put films out and hasn't even shown signs of stopping, so you hate on them of the sake of hating because that's the trendy thing to do.

Uh oh, someone's got their anti-James Gunn goggles on. God forbid you hate him for one thing but can't acknowledge him for making a great film
