Knock knock, let the Devil in. The movie just had it's premier and the reactions to the film are all over Twitter. So I figured I'd create a thread for y'all to post the reactions here as well as any reviews. www.cbr.com/venom-early-social-media-reactions/

notice all the fan comments are already saying they expect critics to trash the movie?

It honestly looks horrible. I love the character and Hardy so I am holding out hope, but I have already seen one review comparing it to Catwoman and one review saying that the new Fantastic 4 is better. Ouch.

the only thing it should not be is mediocre/forgettable. I either want something relevant or so bad it's good.

The highlights so far seems to be the Eddie Brock and Venom/Symbiote relationship. Tom Hardy is a great actor, so no surprised that he's getting praise for his performance.
I noticed that its being referred as a "early 2000's" comic book movie, so not sure how to feel about that statement.

I don't see any positive reviews in that article. One reviewer essentially says it's dumb and ridiculous but fun, that's as good as it gets. Another guy says it's refreshing to see a superhero movie not 'bogged down' by its own universe. The problem is I want Spider-Man characters interacting with Spider-Man. Otherwise, what's the point? There are a million bad actions movies I could sit through, what makes Venom unique is his relationship with Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Without that this is just a B alien movie from the 1980s.

Like comics in the 1990s.

To the nearest 5% I'm going to go guess that the RT score will be 25%.
None of the trailers have impressed me, the PG-13 rating, late embargo and Tom Hardy's comments and damage control are all bad signs.

Interesting. If we're in for a Spider-Man 3 scenario, at least it'd be so crazy it's entertaining. Unless it is more Daredevil or Elektra where it's just boring...

Well, the early 2000's were pretty much filled with movies like Daredevil, Catwoman, Elektra, Hulk, Ghost Rider, Punisher, etc. so that doesn't exactly fill me with hope. In fact, none of those reviews seemed overly positive to me. It's almost like they were trying hard to find something nice to say about it.

Speaking of I really like Korn and her Unplugged version of Freak on a Leash. Hands down Alice in Chains 1996 whole Unplugged show is magnificent.

But its a comedy stuffed with immature humor, like Venom and Eddie are essentially a live-action Ren & Stimpy - and you think this movie will be more intense than Infinity War? Go on, keep us laughing.

Bring Me to Life was my favorite song for the next few months after watching Daredevil. It wasn't till I started hearing it everywhere that I started to get tired of it.
